Default Balto. City police officer kills man after gunfight

Police work in Baltimore City is very dangerous.

Glad to hear the officer will be OK, and the scumbag thug will enjoy an eternal dirt nap.

A Baltimore City police officer shot and killed a man in the 500 block of North Madeira St. Friday night after a gunfight erupted in the alleys of East Baltimore, police said.

An officer from the Eastern District Special Enforcement Section approached the man around 7:30 p.m. The suspect, who police did not identify, engaged the officer in a physical struggle before running down an alley and firing multiple times, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. The officer fired back, killing the suspect.

The officer, whose name was not released Friday, was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital. He was placed on routine leave pending an investigation.

You're supposed to kill them DURING the gun fight. Killing them after the gun fight is just cheating and bad sportsmanship. But then again writing misleading headlines is just bad journalism.

This sounds to me like a reporter that needs to understand that a gun fight is not over simply because there is a cestation in the shooting. When you drop the weapon THEN the gunfight is over. Anything beyond that is not self defense or defense of another.

After all these years, I finally notice I had been spelling that street name incorrectly. Go figure.
