    Default So, Who Replaces Ray?

I've seen comments about T'eo, but who else is out there? Do they have someone that fits the molds to call the defense? Is anyone available?

It depends on what they are able to get done with Flacco. If they end up having the franchise him that is going to severely limit their options when it comes to retaining players like Ellerbe and Kruger or signing any unrestricted free agents.Too early to tell but at this point the draft seems to be the most likely option for them to find a replacement for Ray.

I think they are going to do everything they can to keep Ellerbe, that means letting Kruger go. Next year we have Suggs back to being Suggs and another year of experience from Upshaw.

Excellent linebackers can be found in more than just the first round. Look at Lavonte David on the Bucs. 2nd round pick, and had every bit as good a season as Kuechly, or any other interior LB taken in the draft.

Exactly. I'm just curious if there is anyone that the Ravens could find that could play the position and QB the defense.
As it is, they may have a massively turned over defense next year, which gives that dude the chance to start fresh.

The question wasn't so much about the 1st round, but I don't really follow college, and the FA class looks pretty thin - so are there any good prospects out there?

After Lewis ascends through the roof of the Superdome descending will be Moses. He never got the chance to play while going to college in Egypt and is now gonna play for the Baltimore Ravens. He will part the lines and sack the QB at will. Biggest problem is getting him to play without his staff. He takes it where ever he goes.

What's Ryan Minor doing these days?

Actually, I think the Ravens have a decent crop of young linebackers. Replacing Ray's experience, game knowledge and ability to counter offensive checks with defensive checks will not be easily replaced.

There's a reason he is called "one of the greatest to play the game"....

While we will need a Replacement at Ray's Position, Nobody will replace Ray. Whoever is next in line is going to be compared to Ray his whole career here. Hope they can handle that.
