There is no political will to forcibly remove 12 million undocumented immigrants. The last election proved it is a death blow to even suggest the idea of self deportation by cutting off jobs. The US government has been lax in enforcing the laws since way back in the 70's so I'm afraid we are just going to have to eat this one.

CASA wants us to believe that only Hispanics are "undocumented new Americans"

Lets just say that the American people accept that they have no choice but to offer the 12 million people here illegally, amnesty in the form of citizenship.

Surely we have to understand, that 12 million more people located outside of the US, will be clamoring for their turn at citizenship, after entering the country illegally.

If the current crop of 12 million illegal aliens is allowed citizenship, the US should just abolish the Border Patrol, US Customs, the Coast Guard and just let anyone enter the US.

The way is it headed, you get past US border security, you are granted amnesty and citizenship, plain and simple.

Simple game of politics here...The GOP has to compromise, they have no choice..They need that Latino vote to have any hope of regaining the White House..

Try not to sugarcoat this thread, this is not the GOP playing nice...

I hear exactly what you are saying. But if you can't get Washington to come on board with forcibly removing illegals because it is political suicide then I don't see how this agenda can move forward. Those who wanted 12 million illegals sent home lost the election. The only hope at this point is to better secure the border(s) and apply pressure on businesses and citizens to not hire illegal immigrants and provide a tough but fair path to citizenship.

I find it truly amazing that the US is "incapable" of sealing our southern border, but spent 2 TRILLION dollars in securing the countries of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Border security in this nation is a joke. I am a senior citizen and take a couple of short cruises a year from Florida. The majority of the other passengers are usually seniors as well.

After a four day trip, the cruise ship passengers are subject to lots of scrutiny, by customs officers.

Our luggage scanned by drug sniffing dogs, our passports are electronically analyzed. We are question by Customs Officer as we exit the ship.

Our movement within the terminals are watched closely, likely video taped as well.

However, in most parts of our southern border, you can just walk into the US.

    Indeed...

Who are the constituents of an open border?
Who has been voting against appropriations?

Which we know has not worked out very well. We need to deny the cheese illegals are coming here for. But politicians will not create laws that will get them fired. The biggest sticking point is the 12 million illegals here already. No way, no how, are we going to send them back to Mexico. And even if we do they will find their way back across our borders.

Both parties are guilty for the mess our immigration policies have become. We all knew illegal immigrants were flooding into the US. We all knew companies and families were hiring them because they offered cheap labor.

Actually we've been shown to be incapable of securing the borders of either of the three

Starting in the 1970s, our government has become so bloated with bureaucrats, that it is too large and too cumbersome to be effective.

Back in the 50s, polio was a serious health concern. Government public schools led the nation is wiping out polio, by providing shots and than something as simple as the medication on sugar cubes.

Today such a program would be studied first for ten years. Lobbyists would descend on DC by the thousands trying to get a piece of the pie.

Special interest groups would be suing, saying such a program violated, their religious beliefs, cultural beliefs, _____________ (insert reason).

The shots would likely cost a $1,000 per pupil, if administered, like it was in the 60s.

There is an old saying that applies to ALL forms of government today, in this nation:

A camel is a horse, designed by a committee.
