Default Just came back from the Baltimore Ravens sendoff to the Super Bowl event.

Just came from the Inner Harbor from attending the Baltimore Ravens send off to the Super Bowl event. Turnout was surprisingly large considering the weather Baltimore had this morning of a mix of freezing rain, sleet and rain which eventually turned to all rain. The Baltimore Ravens team was slightly delayed arriving at the Inner Harbor due to traffic on I-695. Mayor Stephanie Rawling-Blake was there as was Governor Martin O'Malley which when introduced, I could hear people booing at the Mayor and the Governor, the Mayor gave a short speech, Governor O'Malley did not give a speech. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave a speech as did Ray Lewis.

Getting home took a while as traffic was completely backed up on Pratt Street, gave up waiting for a Charm City Circulator bus so I decided to walk to Charles Street to catch the #3, same situation on Charles Street, totally backed up traffic, looked worse than rush hour traffic with how badly traffic was completely backed up on Pratt and Charles Streets.

That's it? No cheerleaders? No Poe? Just Stephanie Rawlings-Crook reading from her "I can't speak without them" index cards and tax-a-holic "Never met a tax I didn't like" OWE'Malley? Damn.

Very cool you got to go.

    GO RAVENS!!!

    the cheerleaders were there.

I was one of the people booing the mayor. she sure can't be found otherwise speaking to her subjects. I did not notice if she was using index cards this time but I def have seen her using them in the past....one time stands out in my mind...on charles village, she came to speak at the spot where stephen pitcairn was murdered and even then, this pathetic woman could not speak from her heart but had to use cards....really Steph?!

back to the rally, I thought it was a great turnout too and was proud to be a part of the send off!

Yes, the cheerleader and the Ravens Marching Band was there, there was also fireworks.

I used Baltimore City's 311 app for Android devices this afternoon to inform 311 that they might need to call police and inform them that a traffic officer needed to be dispatched to Charles and Pratt Streets and took a picture showing how backed up traffic was on Pratt and Charles and they gave me SR Number 13-00065339 and I just checked it and it says in the app "Closed" so I went onto the 311 website and typed in the SR number and here's what 311 says to do because apparently they don't contact the police:

    Service Request Details:

Service Request Number: 13-00065339 Type Code: ECC-Miscellaneous Request Location: 1 E PRATT ST, BALTIMORE CITY, MD 21202 Description: Traffic police needed. Created Date: 1/28/2013 1:28:29 PM Due Date: 2/2/2013 1:28:29 PM Status: Closed Status Date: 1/28/2013 1:34:44 PM Activity: Abate Outcome: Citizen should call police
"Outcome: Citizen should call police" Seriously 311??? At what number??? Certainly NOT 911 because there was no accidents at the time but traffic was pretty bad and pedestrians were crossing the streets when the don't walk signs were on.

Glad you all could go, I watched on TV. Looked like a great event.
I just wish we could put all disagreements including politics aside and all just support our team. One week, that's all. We can pick up on the fights where we left off next week. Not the time or place to show displeasure to the mayor, etc, just imho.

    GO RAVENS!!!!!!!

What's with Ed Reed and that Eddie Money song, "Two Tickets to Paradise"?

He's been singing it for the last two weeks.

Ed sounds like the kind of guy I'd like to party with.

I doubt "they" are too sad about not living in the city and still having to carry the city poundage at tax time.
