I know Joe doesn't have a problem playing in cold weather in general but the Superbowl is a different story, for all we know a blizzard could hit New York this time next year. I like the Superbowl in a warm weather city or a venue with a dome or retractable roof.

I've heard a few former players and current members of the media say that the Super Bowl should rotate between Miami, New Orleans, and San Diego.

I don't know about that - you also have Texas, Houston, Atlanta, Arizona, LA, and San Francisco. I know LA doesn't have an NFL team, and I don't know if they have the venue to properly host, but it seems a no-brainer to me.
Also, you have other domed stadiums that would make sense venue-wise.

Manhattan isn't exactly easy to get to from the Jersey sports complex. So the whole idea that it's in New York is laughable. Second, what will they do if it's a blizzard that day? Third, Superbowl tickets are already way to expensive. I don't want to pay $2,000 to sit in 17 degree weather at night.

I 'kinda' wish the SB was in NY this year for the Ravens (not the fans). They handled the cold and slight breeze in Denver and strong winds in Foxborough better than their opponents. Noise and fireworks are the only 'elements' they'll have to deal with at the 'Dome.

Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge would be better imho. 80 miles from NOLA, 92,000 seat stadium....temps 66/48 for Sunday.

I personally think the game is better played outdoors in moderate weather conditions, but extreme elements do add drama, and the Ravens in particular have proven to be able to handle it. To me the real issue is the fans attending the game. How much more fun is it to roam around New Orleans, San Diego, or Miami in February as compared to NY, Denver, or Detroit? If I'm going to spend big bucks to travel, I'd prefer the destination be nice weather.

As to Joe's use of the word, retarded, for personal reasons I am extremely respectful of individuals with disabilities, and we should in fact try not to use language that is derogatory toward them. So you have to be able to walk there for it to be convenient? You can stay in a hotel in Manhattan for the game and have everything at your fingertips and then take a bus or cab to the game. It is a bad location for an outdoor Super Bowl. It isn't in the middle of nowhere.

I think it's easy to jump on the subway and go uptown or downtown. But it wasn't as easy to get to the bus station and make my way to and from the sports complex. I mean it's not a bad experience. But New York is already crowded enuogh for reasons not even releated to the Superbowl. Then add in the cold weather. If I'm going to stand waiting for a bus or cab, I would rather it we 70 degrees.

if a blizzard would hit an outdoor/northern venue, and paralyzed transportation around the stadium, what would the nfl/fans/sponsors/etc etc etc do? there is so much buildup to one single day, i cant imagine that anyone would want to leave it to chance. flacoo couldve used a better word than retarded but i agree a cold or uncertain venue for the sb makes zero sense
