wondering if the nfl bans ray for his next game pending the results of a full investigation. it would surely send a message to all players that ped use is unacceptable to the league

What possible grounds would support that move?

The word of a self-promoting "businessman"? A bottom feeding "journalist"?

Ray Lewis denied using any banned substance and has passed every drug test given.

The Message to all players sent by the NFL is clear: "Don't trust anyone, especially the media! Or the NFL!"

Ray hasn't failed any tests. Guilty or not, you can't suspend a player because of a media story.

If he wanted to cheat, there’s no blood test in the NFL, he would have taken HGH. IGF-1 is a banned substance. Deer antler sprays and pills don’t have IGF-1 in it.

Exactly. As I keep mentioning, Deer Antler is all natural, as is Milk. Today's hormone infused milk has more IGF-1 then Deer Antler Velvet.

Another part that doesn't make sense is that if this "journalist" reported that Ray was taking the stuff two years ago, then why was he just recorded in October asking how to use it? Asking if you rub it on your elbow. Clearly he hasn't taken it before then. So if this guy reported two years ago that he took it, and now there is evidence that he didnt', why should anyone believe him now?

Stories like this are the reason I hate the off week before a SB.

I think we can believe a doctor at Johns Hopkins.

Deer antler spray wouldn't deliver banned substance, according to Hopkins doctor

Even if Ray Lewis did use deer antler spray his body would have never absorbed the banned substance its manufacturer says gives the product its potency, a Johns Hopkins professor said.

Dr. Roberto Salvatori, who runs a lab studying growth hormone deficiency and has been on the Hopkins faculty since 1998, said there is no scientifically accepted way to deliver IGF-1 orally.

“If there were, a lot of people would be happy that they don’t need to get shots anymore,” he said. “It’s just simply not possible for it to come from a spray.”
This is just a publicity stunt by a guy who wants to advertise his business.

When I was in college we were pumping ourselves full of creation, glutamine and androstene besides for a placebo effect, it didn’t work. These supplement companies rip people off.

Thanks for posting that, I was hoping a doctor would weigh in on this story. But I'm sure the haters won't believe him because of the location of Johns Hopkins. That doctor must be a homer!

I encourage anyone on twitter to give Mr. Epstein a piece of your mind and try to call him out on these inconsistencies and bogus claims. His handle is SIDavidEpstein.

I think we should thank him. The Ravens already have this “us vs them mentality” they’ll eat this up.

Which is what I first thought when I heard it come out. Whatever, it just gives those who hate Ray more reason to attack him. There is some clown parrot on the Steve Czban show who won't stop in his crying about Ray. He is hoping that somehow the NFL will suspend him for the game. Just another whining Washington fan.

I've read and heard the reports, and to me this seems to be the equivlent of internet troll sports reporting.

Czaban is an idiot, he's on my local station too. Let "the shield" try to suspend Lewis, I imagine a lot of Ravens (if not all of them) would refuse to take the field.

One day after facing questions about alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs, Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis called Mitch Ross, co-owner of Sports with Alternatives to Steroids, "a coward."

"The guy has no credibility," Lewis said during the Ravens' media availability in New Orleans. "You can use the word agitated. Angry? Nothing from the outside could ever make me angry. ... I think it's one of the most embarrassing things. I never, ever took any of those things. I don't need it. My teammates don't need it."

Even if there is a recording, who cares? It proves nothing. Doesn't prove he actually took it, doesn't prove it has IGF-1 in there. At least any more then milk or steak does.

The whole thing is a smear campaign. Why do you think the NFL hasn't even commented on it?

I agree, but if he rests his claim on a recording, he should put it out there, otherwise I don't believe there is even a recording.
