Default I give God 10%. Why do you get 18?

    Cheap pastor stiffs waiter

The story: The pastor was part of a party of 20 who ate at this server’s restaurant. Like many American restaurants, this particular one has a policy of adding an automatic 18% tip for large parties. It’s something the computer does automatically, not something the server has any control over.

According to the server, the pastor and his party tried to get around the automatic 18% tip by asking for separate checks, even though the same man was paying for the whole table. The server says that everyone was happy with the service; they just didn’t like the idea of a compulsory tip.

The result? The pastor scribbled out the tip, leaving none at all, and adding the note, “I give God 10%. Why do you get 18?”
The post then goes on to talk about how some servers find Sundays bad tips days when the church people come out. "They’re usually the most demanding, and they’re always the worst tippers. I guarantee you, if you see your table praying before the meal, you can mentally subtract a third from your tip.”

Why does the pastor only tip God 10%?

Asuming that story is true and not a mere urban legend (I tend towards the latter explanation) that type of inane self justifying eisegesis is basically why Christianity is in the state it is in and why it is dragging the rest of society down with it. It just is.

Why do people get so cheap when it comes to tips?

We go out to lunch every Sunday after church. I pay the bill. I always leave a nice tip. I tip well at other times too. So one religious guy acts like a jackwagon and now we're all cheapskates. I bet Kandace likes fried chicken. I mean don't all black people like fried chicken? See how that works.

Wow, pastor of a 15-member storefront church. No wonder she's too important to have to tip the little people.

Looks like she's taken down her Facebook and Twitter pages. Google the name and you can see what used to be there in the cache.

That's how quickly someone's life can change. Not to change the subject but I see Randy Travis is in some hot water with a DUI, driving naked and ready to fight when they pulled him over. I wonder if he's on Youtube now.

Several waitresses have told me on occasion that they hate serving churches because they routinely pay little or no tips.

Walk a few hundred miles in a waiter's/waitress's shoes and see what you feel about cheap tippers.

It's true and will complain more about silly stuff.....and send their food back

From my experience from working in restaurants, I never send my food back when eating out.....ever

I usually tip very well for great service and still tip for bad service, they just don't get more than 20%. As for sending food back, I generally (like 99% of the time) don't ever send food back. However, I have had the occasional blue steak that I had to send back. But that's really the only type of situation where I will send something back.

Well I pray before I eat, don't go to church, and tip well.

But this B must be crazy! Why would she even write some **** like that on a receipt. Thats just mean. And she is probably the first to tell somebody else how they should live their life. SMDH

    matt -

You missed the obvious mistake of the article:

    A "she" Pastor ?

Most Christian denominations would agree that's an oxymoron.
