They probably don't deal with unions for the cars assembled in the US. I'm aware of the fact that Hyundai hires union labor in Korea.

I'm definitely pro-labor but when it comes to car buying, I'm pro-value and pro-quality. I test-drove some American cars but didn't like any of them as much as I liked the Hyundais I test-drove...

Easy, it was 70s-90s. The Big 3 and the UAW thought they were untouchable and didn't take the competition seriously. This ultimately led to their financial problems and bad reputation.

I just think it's funny that pro-union folks don't support companies that employ US labor unions.

The Ford Escape and the GMC Terrain.

I liked the Hyundai Santa Fe best of all the cars I test-drove

OH so you're a SUV/crossover type person. I've not yet driven one of those so can't really speak to them. I know as far as cars go for is putting out some pretty impressive stuff these days.

I've driven a few Hyundai vehicles recently. I must say I'm very impressed with how vastly improved they are over the old days where a Hyundai was typically the butt of a joke.

I agree. Hyundai overall is an excellent car company. Like you I like the Sante Fe better than its competitors.

The worst Foreign car I've ever had was a BMW. It was a money sucking black hole of Star Trek proportions.

My preference for full size 4WD is my GMC extended cab. I liked it better than Titan.

I live in a blue state yet I'm hardly a democrat. I drive a Honda that was assembled in Canada. So while I fit in with the conclusions of the sales results it hardly means anything in my case.
I bought the Honda for pretty much three reasons. My current car was 10 years old and was not running well. My dad had purchased a Honda and I liked his car way better than mine. When my old man told me the price I pretty much made up my mind.

I looked at a Hyundai in the mall one day and was surprised to see all of the extra's for the money. Dics brakes all around and a great warranty. I noticed Ford is styling some of their cars after Hyundai. Are they working together in North America?

Like a Toyota Corolla back in the 70's.

Makes no sense, people spend their money on their needs and wants. I don't find it funny. I find your post funny. Like I said, I am pro union. Please tell when unions started selling cars.

I’ll be 65 this April. My entire life I’ve only owned 3 cars.

    1. 1975 Toyota Corolla. Sold it to a kid in 1991 for $300 after putting 175K on it.

    2. 1985 Honda Civic Station Wagon. Gave it to a veteran’s organization in 2006, still running but badly in need of a carburetor and a rusting undercarriage, with 198K on it. The engine was still purring like a kitten and I figured they could use it for parts if nothing else.

    3. 2004 Honda Civic that I drive now. I bought in in 2006, with 25K on it and have got 65K on it now and haven’t had a single problem. It may well be the last car I buy.

I don’t know about anybody else but that’s pretty much why I always buy foreign cars. They've proved themselves reliable to me.

So there is no correlation between how many cars the Big 3 sell and how many UAW union jobs exist in the United States?

It's all good. As union jobs continue to disappear, Democrats will blame Republicans ignoring the fact that they don't actually support unions other than paying lip service at election time.
