It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. The public will blame this faux crisis on the Republicans and they know it. That can't seem to help themselves. The leadership void is jaw-dropping.

The democrats have managed to manipulate the media that anything that goes wrong in Washington it's the Republican's fault. Their best bet is to stay the course and do what's right for the country. Printing trillions of dollars is not the answer and will most likely increase the economic problems in the US and around the world if it continues.

Right, because the electorate is stupid. This crisis could easily be stopped. How many times do the Republicsns think they can play this brinkmanship game before the public catches on.

And anyone who bought that "Friends of Hamas" nonsense really shouldn't be pointing fingers at media manipulating public opinion.

What I don't get is why people like you who lapped up this fantasy aren't insulted? These Breitbart clowns basically think they can just make stuff up and their adherents are too damn stupid to do anything but wag their little tails and lap it up. Jesus have some dignity.

But, it wasn't Obama's plan. There's even information out now about how Boehner was pushing the idea of sequestration from the get go... with a nice little power point presentation about it to boot. It's what they wanted from the very start and they said as much when they finally got it. It's only now that it's about to blow up in our faces that they are trying to backtrack and pin it all on Obama. The sad part is that everyone (except blind partisan fools like yourself) can see right through their BS.

Friends of Hamas true or not is out there and will raise doubts about Hagel. Dirty politics is played by both sides.

And you have a link to his new information? And yes, it is possible Boehner had a similar plan as he has stated many times, the sequestration gives him 98% of what he was asking for. Accepts his cuts would have been done with a scalpel instead of a chain saw.

Know yr kind is cornered when the "both sides do it" argument is resorted to.

It will be a matter of hours before some wingnut posts the next fantasy. And you'll believe it. Astonishing.

Really if you watch Fox news, read Briebart.com or listen to the Patriot it is just the opposite. It is all the democrats fault. Isn't that media????? I agree that media manipulation happens but to say it is only one party is absurd. I mean the printing and doubling down on Firend's of Hamas LIE is absurd. If Hagel is a accepting money from groups like Briebart said and other Senators and Former Senators have claimed due to his association with The Atlantic than we need to be concerned about some other former and current board members like Condoleza Rice, James Baker, William Webster, George Schultz and Rupert Murdoch.....not to mention the person the GOP suggests would have no problem instead of Hagel, Flournoy is currently on the executive board!!!!!

He's just ignorant. The problem with the ignorati is their delusion of adequacy. They then feel the need to validate themselves by forming groups that desire to pull everything else down to their simpleminded level. There is no point in naming names here since these people identify themselves the moment they open their complaining mouths. Some are honestly led along by cable news or lowlife politicians for their own personal profit. The irony is that the ignorati are unwilling to see where their own "solutions" work against their own interests. Then when the whole thing collapses as it did in 2008 they look around like blinking moon calves and wonder what happened.

Whether I agree with it or not isn't important. It's still reality. No one should deny politics is a dirty business.

A significant part of it is.

Don't tell me you're gonna disagree with that.

So the windbags gave up their filibuster. Took the fools long enough. Hagel's a good fit for the position.

The Right's latest anti-American witch hunt has failed.

Chuck Hagel was just confirmed as the new Secretary of Defense in a 58-41 Senate vote, and I’d like to give a big thumbs up to Breitbart.com for their non-stop (some might say obsessive) hard work in helping to make it happen. The “Friends of Hamas” scam will go down in political history as one of the most embarrassingly obvious fake hit jobs ever.

Great job! You’ve made Andrew proud.

OK, you can start predicting doom now.
