    Default Timonium Gun Range Suicide

Sad. From the story it sounds like he may have rented the gun.

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at the Continental Arms

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at the Continental Arms firing range a little after 5 p.m., Thursday.

It was determined at the scene that the man died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Two police cruisers remained in the upper parking lot on Deereco Road as of 6 p.m.

There were no other injuries reported.

Individuals seeking to rent a gun at Continental Arms must first provide a driver's license or some other form of government-issued identification. First time range shooters must also read over the rules and regulations of the range before obtaining a gun, in addition to filling out paperwork.

I've been there a few times. Not because I like guns but because I wanted shooting lessons...

The reports I read call it a self-inflicted gun shot. Is that necessarily a suicide if it was self-inflicted accidentally?

I've been there several times. This incident must have scared the crap out of the other folks at the range. If it was an intentional suicide, rather than an accident, the guy was slime.

I went shooting at "On Target" in Ft Meade once. I was amazed at where I saw bullet holes (above, on the side, and even behind the shooting position).

    Never again went back there.

One always has to be aware of their surroundings. There always seems to be a yahoo or two at the range, and it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on him/her.

This is extremely unusual. In all the years I have been associated with firearms I have never heard of an incident like this.

Have they determined whether it was an accident or intentional suicide?

sometime around my middle school/high scool age, 20-25 years ago, there was an officer (I am pretty sure he was a police officer) who shot himself at the gun club/range on Dulaney Valley road (Timonium).
