Default ravens vs 49er's prediction thread

THis is going to be a really tough physical game but I see the Ravens winning this game 20-17. THe Ravens are on an emotional high and are very confident. I forsee the Ravens knocking out Kapernick by the 4th Quarter and David ackers missing a critical kick. The Dome will help Flacco throw enough deep balls to allow Rice some nice runs.

Although I am picking against them in my Pick 'em at work (it seems if I pick against them there, they win), here I'm going to say:

    John 24
    Jim 17

I'm thinking Ravens by 7. Something like 24-17.

I do think the Ravens will have some problems with the niners offense. But I think Flacco is going to show why he is an elite QB!

I think cap makes a few plays at first and the announcers anoint him the next great QB, only to have him get stopped in the second half. Defense can't play complacent or he will make plays. I see Joe/Torry having a potential MVP type of game.

Why everyone is acting like Kaepernick is the seconding coming just blows my mind. The Ravens actually did a pretty good job bottling up RGIII. The Ravens also have been unbeatable against rookie and 2nd year QBs.

Kaepernick saw some pretty soft defenses down the stretch, too. Not saying the Raven's D was much better during the regular season, but they're playing much better than any D Kaepernick has seen in his brief career.

I have had the same feeling about the game due to the age of many on this team thinking this might be their only chance.

    26-13 Ravens.

Ravens will remain undefeated @ Super Bowls with the brilliant Mr. Brohan in the house.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I'm actually feeling pretty confident about a Ravens win.

(Posted this before the Denver and New England games and I don't wanna jinx anything.)

Superbowls are the hardest games to predict. So many variables that simply aren't present during the regular season and even playoffs. Neutral field, two weeks between games and the circus atmosphere that can destroy a teams rythym, which player gets a case of the nerves. Sometimes things just don't go the way you think they will in this game. Last Ravens superbowl I was confident they would win, and win by quite a bit. Two reasons: 1) The Giants and Kerry Collins had just finished whipping Minnesota something like 41-0. I thought that team played the perfect game and would never have a game like that again in the superbowl, and 2) I thought the Giants would never be able to prepare for the Ravens speed on defense. The biggest thing about the 2000 defense was how quickly they got to the guy with the ball. That just couldn't be simulated in practice. This game is a lot closer. Who makes more big plays and less mistakes will probably win, and that could really be either team. When I compare both teams in all areas of talent, I think SF is a better team. The only area's I think the Ravens have a true advantage are at QB and special teams. But as I said, this game just doesn't usually go according to the stat sheet. The Ravens just seem to have the feel of that team that isn't necessarily the best in the league, but is hot and confident at the right time. I think the game is close, but I like the Ravens 27-24. But in all honesty, if SF ended up on the right side of that score, I wouldn't be totally shocked. I think this could have the makings of one of the best superbowls of all time. Might even be the first one ever to go into OT.

After reading about this officiating crew, who have already reffed one of the niners playoff games this year, i think we are going to see a good game get ruined. Ravens 28 SF27
