Neither guns nor cars should be banned. But there should atleast be more regulations on guns if they cause as many deaths as cars...

So you are against Sen. Feinstein's assault weapons ban?

    I seriously doubt that.

If armed security personnel are paid to be on the campus, they can certainly respond much faster than police who are miles away. Even you guys should be able to do the math on that one.

Except, that's not what you said. Columbine had armed guards. That's what you said, and you were correct. They didn't do crap.

I don't think an assault weapons ban will help reduce gun violence

I was talking about the local police who showed up in SWAT gear and then did nothing until the shooting had stopped. Also, it's rather absurd to argue that, because Columbine wasn't stopped by an armed guard (and I've never read about exactly what he did or didn't do) that we should just leave schools totally unprotected. How, pray tell, does that make schools safer? How does announcing that schools are "Gun Free Zones" make them safer? It seems that's an advertisement for any maniac looking to commit unencumbered slaughter as to where he should go. It's not a coincidence that James Holmes targeted a theatre declaring itself "gun free".
