Sapp as a finalist is a joke.

Who the hell is Aeneas Williams? And how the hell did he get more votes than Art?

The guy was a below average owner and poor business man. He ran a team bankrupt in one city where he had great support and full stadiums, moved to another city so he'd be able to keep the team in his family when he died, and still had to sell the team anyway because he didn't have the money to run the team (despite all of the money from Maryland and more full stadiums).

I would have had liked to have had a shiny, new, expansion NFL team in Baltimore, but after Tagliabue told us to "Build a museum" instead of giving BMore the ball, we had to take what was dealt to us which was a relocated team and from the early days of 16-31-1 those first 3 seasons, we have had a pretty good run so far.

I don't think he is. He played for the Rams the year the won the SB, but other than that never heard of him before then, or much after. What did he contribute?

Strahan got SCREWED, not Art. Wellington Mara was involved with the NFL from the time he was 5 and did not get in the Hall until he was in his 70's.
Art was not anything special as an owner that changed the game. He did fire Bill Belichick and wanted to draft Lawrence Phillips over J. Ogden.

If Al Davis is in the HOF then Modell should be too. They want to hold the move to Baltimore against Modell but Davis moved the Raiders twice. He moved from Oakland to LA and broke the hearts of the Oakland area. Then moves the Raiders back to Oakland from LA breaking the hearts of the LA fans that adopted them.

So if Davis is in then Art needs to be too.

Al Davis won Super Bowls. Check how many games Davis's Raiders won and Raider HOF's vs. Modells Browns/Ravens.
The LA fans hearts were soooo broken that LA doesn't even have a NFL team and isn't begging for one.

    you can't be serious.

the guy was a one man wrecking ball and essentially redefined the DT position.

you know when during the NFL draft the analysts are saying they're looking for the "next Warren Sapp", you did something right.

Why does this upset so many people? I can understand his family and friends getting upset but while I may think he belongs, at the end of he day it doesn't matter all that much to me.

It really goes to show the extent to which hatred ends up blinding people.

Art and Ray Lewis aren't very highly thought of outside of Baltimore.
