The first time I head the term "limey" was from my friend's dad.

He was a sailor in WWII.

Torpedo (PT) boat in the Pacific theater.

Regaled us on the mix-ups of Brit saliors stationed in Norfolk during and after.

Particularly on the pronounciation of "Norfolk" in America and England.
