Default John Harbaugh class act....Jim not so much

still complaining that Jimmy Smith held....

what about the late hit out of bounds on Flacco ?
what about the running into the kicker that CLEARLY never happened ?

hey Jim....win with class. Lose with class

We definitely got the better Harbaugh

Eh, that's how Jim is. He's ultra-competitive in a different way than some (or most). There was contact both ways on that, hence the likely no call. The hit out-of-bounds on Flacco could have certainly been called too, and would have extended that drive deep in 49ers territory. I think it was Deion and Faulk in the NFL Network post-game that said something like "If that were Brady or Manning, they'd have probably thrown the guy out." It was certainly more "obvious" to me than the soft call they hit Ngata with. Overall though the crew just let them play.

I just saw the video, and you beat me to the punch. The late hit on Flacco would have given the Ravens 1st and goal at the 1, with a chance to go up 12.

And homer Simms didn't see anything wrong with it. I've seen the late hit 3x. Blatant and OB.

Damn FortyWhiners. It'll give Dick Cluelass and Stephen Axel Smith something to bore their First Take viewers with tomorrow.

One blatant error: the Akers flop on his MFG, and the Ravens get called for roughing. wtw?

1st and goal at the one? You might want to learn the rules...

If the power hadn't gone out for over a half hour the game would have ended in an annilation of the 49ers. If there is something to complain about it would be the ridiculously long half-time show and the ridiculously long power outage. But yeah your brother just won the superbowl you crying about a call isn't going to change the result. Stop whinning and be a man.

Yeah. I have to man up on this one. I insisted that Jim was the better coach. I was wrong.

    (HEY...it happens.)

on the subject of the non-holding call. Deion said something interesting, 'you know how I know it wasn't holding. Because Crabtree didn't react. when has a receiver ever been held, and didn't say anything about it. he just went on about his business.'

I think that statement sums it up and closes the door on any doubt about whether it should have been called or not.

on the Flacco hit, Simms said something to the effect of, they were out of bounds so the late hit rules don't apply to that situation.

Simms was talking about the QB being out of the pocket, not out of bounds. If that had been Brady though, there would have been 8 flags on the play - each official's flag and Brady's personal flag.

I concur. They honestly think they were robbed of the victory. Had they played better in the first half, it would have been a different story. They played well, but the better team won this time around.

The refs wouldn't have made that call, because it would have been bull****. There was no way that pass would have been caught.

I thought the running into the kicker call was bull****, but that's the way the game goes.

Everyone says that the only thing they want from the officials is consistency - and they got it on Sunday!

We can look at a littany of non-calls but forget that the officials let the players play.

    Ravens play, but 49ers whine!

Regarding the late hit on Flacco: Yes, 1st and goal at the 1. Or should I have said the 2 foot line, since it would have been half the distance. What part of the rules do I need to learn?

thanks for clarifying. he's still wrong since it was a late hit after Joe was well out of bounds.

Jim wants to whine about the call but I didn't hear Mike Smith the Atlanta coach, complaining about Roddy White getting hit beyond five yards in the play that ended Atlanta's superbowl hopes. Jim needs to develop some class when losing.

Jim is a typical Michigan Man...I would be suprprised if he wasn't blaming everyone but himself and his team.

He would be the perfect coach for that team down in Raljohn.
