Default Even After Winning Super Bowl XLVII, Ravens STILL Get No Respect

I just finished scouring all the news media in San Francisco to get a different slant on the game and could not find one comment that gave the Ravens credit for beating the 49ers. It was all about how they lost; not how the Ravens won. The city must be full of Boomer Esiasons. Poor ba$tards.

    Sorry, just had to vent.

If Kaepernick had run a naked bootleg and scored there at the end, and the offense didn't get it done in the last minute, we'd all be screaming about the non-call on Smith, or the non-call on the OOB hit on Flacco, or Harbaugh's choice to kick a FG from the one, or Reed & Pollard failing to wrap up, and how all those things "gave" the game to SF.

You know it wasn't so much of what Boomer said but the tone in which he said it in. He was a a d-bag in his days at MD and that has not changed over the years. He is the one guy that came out of MD that I have never liked.

Boomer is real impressed with himself. I wonder if he and Dilfer ever get tired of being wrong.

Or that bogus "roughing the kicker call on Akers."

Enjoy the few crumbs of credit for the Ravens (where you can find it), and ignore the rest.

'My' Detroit Tigers sweep New York to win the AL pennant. Third time that Leyland and the Tigers have beaten the Yankees in their only post-season matches.

The press probably spent 90% of their discussions talking about what the Yankees did wrong, and what they need to do next year to get better.

And then spent time talking about the WS match-up between the SF Giants and the team that beat the Yankees....

Scoreboard - good for you - but that'll happen when your leader is a lying cheating snitch.

Of course they get no respect.

They were supposed to lose to:

the "next big thing" andrew luck and the colts

    the climate, altitude and Manning

    brady, belichek and gillette stadium

the better, younger, more athletic 49ers

But a funny thing happened along the way......

the MEN in Purple and Black came to play in each of those games, making ALL the yappity-yaps on the pre-game shows look like fools for picking against them. Now that they are 0-4 in the post-season in Raven's games, it can't be that THEY were wrong, the Ravens must have cheated, got lucky, got a break from the oficials, etc.....

I like the chip-on-our-collective-shoulder routine. It keeps me warm in the offseason.

that's all that needs to be said....wins are all that matters....most of the talking rear ends and the 49'ers underestimated the Ravens and paid for it....the 49'ers may have more talent, but they did not play like they did....the team that wanted it more won....excuses are for losers....

And, contrary to what I believed and expected, John clearly outcoached Jim.

    This.

Actually, outcoached him in the game (time management, playcalling, the end game, i.e., the safety, even the fake FG which kept the pressure on) and the week before. John (and Ray) had the Ravens being pretty quiet and focused. Jim had the Niners acting like they had already won.

Not sure Jim knows how to win a Super Bowl....

I would think that he learned a few things from the experience

I think Jim is a very good young coach. He has had a lot of success wherever he has gone. However, coaching in the NFL is a whole lot different than coaching in college but I am fairly certain Jim will grow into the role. John is a much better coach now than he was 3 years ago, IMHO. Jim will probably improve as well.
