Default Since this isn't the Tagliabue NFL anymore...

Do we open the 2013 season at home on Thursday night?

If you recall in the several years prior to 2001, the Super Bowl winner opened up their season on Monday Night Football, since Thursday games were only on Thanksgiving. However, in the Tagliabue NFL, in 2001 we played 1:00 on Sunday against the Bears and the Giants played on the first Monday night. Our Monday night game was the next week, which ended up being played in January because of 9/11.

We will open at home on Thursday. Luckily, that should be our only Thursday game unless we get tapped to play the Lions on Thanksgiving. I suspect our opponent in week 1 will be the Packers, Patriots or Steelers.
