The ONLY real question is why are we spending billions on stupid foreign policy adventurism while our power grid is rusting to pieces.

Excellent question. All the efforts in the world regarding our future energy needs won't mean squat if our power grid remains as absolutely pathetic as it is right now.

Because Obama's near trillion dollar stimulus plan went to his special interest donors instead of infrastructure spending. That's why.

Great question. It is a STATE & LOCAL government issue and they like tax cuts over spending moneyfixing stuff, until it falls apart.
If BG&E said they need a rate increase to fix the power grid people would have a cow.

Why should my tax dollars have to pay for things that benefits others? If the power grid breaks in New Orleans, that's their problem, not mine. My taxes belong to me and only me, because I earned it and the guberment didn't.

You don't have a clue in regard to mike's post. Maybe, if you stop being so judgmental, you might just pick up on what he is saying.

What political office was Michael Brown elected to? It's a simple question.

None. He was a major fund raiser for a Republican who rewarded him by placing him in a critically important position for which he was profoundly unqualified. His tweet reveals the character of the man.

Indeed. Brown proved he was a clown with his comments during Sandy.

I think Mike Evans believes he was elected. Or it's just more of his race-charged anti-republican whining.

Do you understand what the power grid is? It's the electrical power distribution system. So no, power generation of any sort won't help.

Yes, and clearly you don't understand the efficient allocation of scarce resources.

You must come from the ATM's kill jobs school of thought.

Lacking a grasp of a relatively simple concept like what constitutes the power grid pretty much removes one from a reasoned conversation of the much more complex issue of resource allocation.

Nonetheless, the energy needs of the country have to be addressed in the present and for the future. R&D in alternate sources of energy is imperative, as is a modernization of the power grid.

You know what FSF said about great minds.
