Just Who Do They Represent: At Hagel Hearing, Concern for Israel Tops U.S. Troops in Combat

When Senator Mike Lee took his turn to cross-examine defense-secretary nominee Chuck Hagel during last Thursday’s confirmation hearing, he expressed considerable concern for Israel’s security.

“Let’s say those Palestinians who have engaged in acts of terrorism, perhaps in retaliation against Israel for Israel defending itself,” the Republican from Utah asked, ”do they have a legitimate gripe?”

Hagel responded that “terrorism can never be justified under any circumstances.”

Senator Mike is a paid spokesman for Israel & Co. otherwise known as AIPAC. Wish they'd make these unpatriotic rats wear logos like NASCAR drivers do so you know at a glance who they are bought by.

It seems like they are going to great lengths to make sure that Hagel understands that as Secretary of Defence he must have an unquestionable and undying loyalty to Israel because he will answering to Netanyahu. I just don't understand why they wouldn't have the exact same concerns on how Hagel feels about our other allies. My God, what if Hagel believes we should nuke Europe? Is that fine and dandy as long as Hagel knows that Isarel calls all the shots at the Pentagon?

Hagel should have expected this from the Republicans on the panel. When you are a Republican Senator and you back a Democrat for President over another Republican Senator, which he did in 08, you have to expect payback.

Hagel is too stupid or ambitious or maybe too much of both to realized he’s been picked by the administration to preside over the decimation of the armed forces over the next four years because he is a Republican. He’s being scapegoated out to the masses as the point man for disassembling our national defense, which has been the dream child of every progressive since Hanoi Jane got a leg over the commie ack-ack gun. Another Jimmy Carter legacy His Almightiness intends to revive.

So glad to see that there is someone out there with the sense to see the truth. I applaud your wisdom on this matter.
