Ozzie will figure it out. For all the people complaining about the money Ngata makes look at what happened after he went down in the SB. The defense needs some of these guys unless we can score 40 points a game. I am thinking Suggs and Ngata might be open to restructuring their contracts to stay competitive.

I'll believe that when I see it considering Suggs had to be tagged twice before they finally got his deal done

Doesn't restructuring these days basically mean shifting the same money around to beat the cap?

I wouldn't be averse to that. Ray Rice is not the player to build the offense around. Joe is. And I've been saying that for years. Rice is another example of spending too much money and not getting enough bang for the buck. There are tons of good RBs in the NFL, and even on the Ravens roster. Franchise QBs are another matter entirely. I'd also get rid of Leach. For years the Ravens found good/very good blocking FBs. Then all of a sudden, PRO BOWLER VONTA LEACH became the end all and the be all. Go back to the old way -- vet minimum for a blocking FB. Not $4M for a blocking FB.

I think they need to use Rice better, at least on runs. Maybe it was left over from Cam's offense, but way too many runs right up the middle.

From what I understand(and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) the guaranteed bonus money isn't affected by a restructuring, the base salary is. Just throwing numbers out there as an example: if he's scheduled for 7M in 2013, maybe 8 mil in 2014, and maybe another 5 or 6 in 2015 it can be restructured so maybe it changes to let's say 6m in 2013, 6m in 2014, and 9M in 2015. The problem with that is it's not guaranteed money and if he restructures and then is cut in 2015, that's money he's given up that he would have had in 2013 and 2014. again that's my understanding, if someone knows diffferent, I'd love to have it explained better

I totally agree there. But, unfortunately, it doesn't do anything to change the cap issue and how much Rice is being paid.
