    Default Repeat

I'm going on record today to say the Ravens will repeat as super bowl champs. The Ravens are still being disrespected by the media which will keep the chip on their shoulder that is needed to win in the NFL. Don't be surprised if the don't play the 1st game against the Cardinals on Thursday night. I believe the offense will be better next year now that Caldwell is in charge. They must keep Boldin and leave Osemele at guard. Also the Defense will improve with youth at lb and the return of Webb. Plus Suggs and Ngata will be healthy. Tucker is a $$$ kicker. I can see them being better than this year.

This team is not in as bad a shape as some imply:

    - Webb back, Graham replaces departed Williams, Smith and Brown are nickel
    - If Reed is not back (consider Webb or Smith at S)
    - Must resign Ellerbee
    - LT #1 need in draft (even if you resign McKinnie); draft a Center with pick #2
    - Draft a pass rusher or 2 (Upshaw will continue to improve big time!)
    - Resign/restructure Q Boldin

    - With Pollard and Suggs (and the Lewis way) - strong leadership on defense
    - With Q and Flacco - strong leadership on offense
    - With Tucker and Jacoby Jones - great special teams!
    - Secret weapons with growth - Pierce and Jimmy Smith
    - Draft a LT and center to take care of your QB/HB investment.
    - Draft 2 pass rushers and hope one hits!

This team is in great shape and may improve with youth at LB and FS.

    A repeat is very possible.

I'd be VERY surprised if the Ravens played the Cardinals on opening Thursday night.....considering the Cardinals aren't on the Ravens schedule next year.

The "they show us no respect" thing is old. Ravens, Ravens fans and Baltimore are getting plenty of respect (dare I say admiration?), but back to the point...

I think they have a good shot to win the division again, and if that happens..who knows??

No way. That's the league opener and a big showcase game for them. Gonna be the Ravens and another good draw team. Since the Ravens played NE in the AFCC, and New England is on the schedule as a home game for Batlimore, that's my guess for the Thursday night opener.

With Minnesota on the home schedule, my guess is a showcase of the NFL MVP (AP) and the SBXLVII MVP.

I'd take that bet. It's very tough to repeat in today's NFL. Since 1999, the only team to do so is New England, one time. There are a lot of obstacles to repeating. First, the inevitable loss of the hunger edge. Say what you will, but it is impossible to have that same drive that the Ravens had after losing to New England last year. Once you win it, yeah you want it again, but it just isn't quite as urgent. Two, most superbowl winners lose some young players whose contract is up to FA, just because they have a higher profile. That could very well happen to the Ravens. Three, every team is gunning for you the following year as superbowl champions. With Flacco set to break the bank contract wise, the loss of their spiritual leader, and some other losses, one could argue that the Ravens are not even in as good of shape as the Giants to repeat. You can never say never, and certainly the Ravens will still be a good team next year, but I would bet against a repeat given their cap issues and the players they are likely going to lose in order to get under the cap.

I thought about that, and it's certainly a possibility. But the NE/Balt rivalry is becoming a pretty high profile rivalry with that being the last two AFCC's. I think that will be too hard for the NFL to pass up.

To many things are going to happen first before one could even have a serious talk of repeat and even then it's just to hard to do these days. I'll just enjoy this one for a while.

For what it it worth, I believe we will see the Ravens open the season against the Patriots.

I say they open against Pittsburgh, Denver or New England.

It's too soon to tell what next year's team will be like but there will be some turnover and some of the guys we do bring back will be a year older. I am actually looking forward to getting younger, especially on defense.

That said, Flacco has reached the level where I wouldn't put anything past him. He could rattle off a repeat with his arm alone.

we would need 95% of our players back to have to win it again. i hope we can resign most of them.

I'd love to see the Packers at M&T on Thursday Opening Night.

I think they have a better chance in 2014-2015 than this next year. Not impossible certainly, but I think next year is a bit of a transition.

Disagree on Pittsburgh or really any division opponent in week 1. Those games are two important to be the first game of the season.

    Lol!

Look at this years schedule after losing the AFCC.

Any bets on what it will look like after winning the SB.

    Actually.
Home Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New England, N.Y. Jets, Green Bay, Minnesota, Houston

Away Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Miami, Chicago, Detroit, Denver

Not as bad as this year IMHO.

we already have a center if BIRK retires we need to sign KRUGER. and 2 tall wide outs.
