Have you received a 'clarification' that stated " off topic" for a reason for deletion of a post?

It's still good advice for people like Jim Carrey and his ilk.

I personally didn't like his movies for the most part. Looks like its a win-win for me. He's added to the list of don't go see and I have more money in my pocket.

Carrey was in some things I really like.

In Living Color was before it's time and he played some of the best characters on it.

Ace Ventura was entertaining if take it for what it is.

    Dumb and Dumber was hilarious.

The Cable Guy was a bizarre movie but I liked it.

His 1996 Saturday Night Live episode is one of the best I've ever seen. There was an infomercial sketch where he sells a weight loss program based on heated beads and crystal meth called "Ride the Snake". It's also the first Night at the Roxbury sketch and it made way more sense with him as the third guy in it.

I thought it was a shame that he wasn't nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the Truman Show.

He was amazing in Man on the Moon.

I liked him in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. A nice aside is that Kate Winslet is absurdly hot in that movie.

He has been in some pretty terrible crap too. He's no Bill Murray but he has a pretty good track record.

I can't help but wonder which one was gotten more quality trim over the years: Nugent or Carrey.

I've got to go with Carrey on this one.

Note that I said "quality", not quantity".
