Looks like the O's start a 8 game homestand that Thursday, September 5th.

Already announced, O’s to move game
Didn't they play Wednesday this past year because of a conflict? Maybe I'm wrong. I imagine they would move the game. I hope so at least. The Ravens got stiffed in 2001 when the NFL gave them a bye week to start the season (After complaints it was eventually changed to 1pm versus the Bears).
If the league sticks to recent practice, then the Ravens will host the Thursday night opener. I think I heard on 105.7 this morning that the Orioles are open to adjusting their time / schedule to help accommodate. If they make it an early afternoon game the same day, I'll gladly make the whole day a holiday, and take in both games...![]()
I'd like to attend both games in the same day. It's never been done since the Ravens moved to M&T.
And an interesting fact, the 2001 Ravens are the only SB winner NOT to receive the first primetime game of the following season since they started doing that sometime in the 1990's. Denver got it with their new stadium.
If they scheduled the O's game early enough, it could be done, and they can sell a combo parking pass that would be valid for both games. They may not be able to have lots open as early as they usually do for tailgating, but I bet a lot of people would go to both games.
Then of course there is the MTA.
It could be done.
If you're willing to count preseason, it has happened at least once that I can remember. On August 31, 2001 the Ravens played the Giants (Super Bowl rematch for what it's worth) at around lunchtime and won that game. That evening the Orioles hosted the Mariners. The game was called after 8 2/3 innings due to rain, but the O's still won. I attended both games with a bit of bar-hopping in between. It was a long, fun time downtown. It would be even more exciting with two regular season games, though I doubt they'll do it. I bet the O's will not play on September 5.
It definitely could be done, but it would be a logistic nightmare IMO. What happens if the baseball game goes longer than anticipated and they can't get the O's parking situation settled quick enough before allowing Ravens parking, etc.?
I think it would make more sense for the Orioles to have a day/night double header on another day - say Saturday. Have a 1pm game and a 7pm game. At least is the first game goes longer the Orioles could move the 7pm back a bit.
Good deal. They will get extra rest for week two.
The biggest problem is that the O's play in Chicago the night before. Otherwise they could schedule the game early, like 11:30 AM or Noon...and the game would be over with enough time to spare in between games.
The logistics would probably be tough, but I think many people at the O's game would go to the Ravens game, which would mean leaving their car in the lot all day. Otherwise, take the MTA. Speaking of the MTA they could take advantage of the situation and run more trains that day to move people in and out of the city.
I am sick of hearing the reasons for why this can't happen. The city should do what it can to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
I mean, it would be awesome. The O's could potentially be in the playoff hunt again and then the Ravens would host their first game after winning the Super Bowl.
It would be EPIC.
Also the O's with the no tailgating thing sucks. The light-rail would be crippled.
Where did you hear that? I heard that the players union already killed the idea of playing the game early because both teams play the night before in different cities and are traveling to get to Baltimore. The only way to move the game is schedule a DH for Friday and the White Sox would have to consent to that.
I heard it on 105.7 this AM, don't know how true it actually is though...
