Airman, Any speculations on why the trespassing charge STILL has not been put on Case Search? If that's deemed to be information related to the emergency eval petition and that is what's preventing it from being placed on Case Search. Then the police sure as hell can't use it in a press conference.

Finally! A sane, rational and informative press release on what happened at North County High and ONLY what happened at North County High.

No bond for Glen Burnie man accused of trespassing at North County High

A 25-year-old man arrested for trespassing in North County High School this month — and who was found to have a number of legal, high-powered weapons in his home — has been ordered held without bond.

Justin Matthew Beaumont, of Glen Burnie, was held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center after a bond review hearing Wednesday, according to Kristin Fleckenstein, spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County state's attorney's office.

Beaumont was arrested at North County High School on Feb. 4, according to police accounts. He had entered the high school and was detained by a school resource officer. He was charged with misdemeanor trespassing.
Now that the SAO is informing the public as opposed to trying to incite the public. Without the overcast nightmare visions of 9/11 and Sandy Hook clouding the real issues. It is now much easier to see the officers took the appropriate steps to get this young man the help he needed.

His charges are now posted on case search. So there is transparency. I also noticed that he was in possession of Methadone. But there are no CDS charges against him. So I will assume that he was also in legal possession of the Methadone for valid medical puposes. Even with medically supervised use of Methadone. There are periods in which you will be "out of it." When it takes effect it's difficult to maintain conciousness. The 10 or 20 second catnaps makes it very difficult to follow conversations or paticipate in them coherently.

I found this bit of information to be particularly informative.

At the time, he told officials he had been bullied as a student at North County, and made inquiries about school security. He said he came back to "face his fears," according to the resource officer's account in the Statement of Charges.
It sounds like he had already started a therapy. He just needed some professional medical guidance for that therapy to help him face his fears. He now has that. I am both glad and relieved to hear that.

I think this is a teachable moment. It provides an opportunity to teach all students that Bullying not only has legal and social consequences. It also has long lasting psychological consequences for the bully as well as their victims.

Effects of Bullying Last Into Adulthood, Study Finds

As for the Anne Arundel County Police with their nightmare visions of 9/11 and Sandy Hook. I would like to remind them that when you use fear to try to create political change. That is something we currently define as Terrorism. I would really hate to see the Anne Arundel County Police listed as a terrorist organization for using these atrocious tactics.

    Update as follows:
    http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/mar...,4711661.story

The man charged with trespassing at an Anne Arundel County school this month — and who police said had a number of legal, high-powered weapons in his home — has been deemed competent to stand trial, based on a psychiatric evaluation.

After a brief District Court hearing Tuesday in Annapolis before Judge Danielle Mosley, Justin Beaumont, 25, of Glen Burnie, was returned to the mental health unit of the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, with a bail review hearing set for Wednesday.

Deputy State's Attorney Thomas Fleckenstein said he anticipated a judge may release Beaumont on house arrest under a number of conditions. Beaumont's attorney, Frank Gray, said Beaumont's needs would be "better met in an intensive outpatient program" than in jail.

He's been released on his own recognisance. But I haven't heard any details on any conditions placed on that release beyond the norm. I sincerely hopes he tells his side of the story.

Judge orders gun owner released after tresspassing at high school

A Glen Burnie man whose guns were seized after he slipped into North County High School was approved Wednesday for release from the county detention center in Annapolis.

Justin Matthew Beaumont must avoid schools, have no contact with guns and wear a GPS tracking unit, according to conditions set by District Court Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer.

The 25-year-old former National Guardsman must also comply with a mental-health treatment program recommended by doctors at Sheppard Pratt Hospital.

This latest report once again creates more questions that answers. There is a possibility that the hatchet job continues. I'm starting to believe that the real truth of this isn't so much in what they are saying. But in what they are not saying. There appears to be a lot of weaseling going on. Take this for instance.

Beaumont appeared "out of it" when confronted by school officials and he carried a bottle of methadone, a synthetic opiate used to treat drug addiction, police said.
This is true. But it's not the whole truth. Methadone is used to treat opiate addiction. But that's not all it's used for. It's also used for pain management. It's used for chronic pain management, long term pain management and opioid induced hyperalgesia (OIH.) OIH is where long term use of opiates, like OxyContin, stops relieving pain and starts causing pain.

Beaumont has a "longstanding OxyContin (painkiller) problem," Deputy State’s Attorney Tom Fleckenstein said in court.
Where is he getting this from? Certainly not his criminal record. That all traffic and a nuclear accusation of trespassing. His medical records? possibly BUT doctors don't use words like "problem." They use words like Addiction. They use that word even when your addiction to opiates is entirely due to legitimate medical treatment. So is this statement the qualified diagnosis of a Doctor or the unqualified opinion of a Deputy State’s Attorney aka Lawyer? I also notice that he hasn't said (or it wasn't reported he said) that either the OxyContin or Methadone use was illegal. Since there have been no CDS charges I can only assume that the use of both drugs was part of a legitimate medical treatment.

There is no way in Heaven, Hell or God's green earth that petetion was made in good faith. He should sue them to hell and back. The only real basis for a petition is if they honestly thought he had climbed the tower to jump off and commit suicide. But there is one major problem with that assumption. People that plan to jump off of high places to commit suicide don't take safety equiptment with them to ensure they don't accidently fall off.

I think the Legislature needs to reexamine the loophole they created for LEO's in the emergency petition process. It seems that the privilege is being abused by the police to abuse citizens. They will use it to for political theater or to harass and torment someone they can not legally arrest. There needs to be an investigation in the uses and abuses of this loophole that allows LEO's to bypass a judge.

One more piece of the puzzle has been ferreted out. This one is about his military service and discharge. If he legally owned those guns than he was not dishonorably discharged. Federal law prohibits service members that have been dishonorably discharged from owning or possessing guns.
