    Well, duh.... yes.

All objections I've seen are based on some sort of religious law or something.

Take religion out of the mix, and it becomes a civil rights issue.

But as long as our politicians bow down before an imaginary sky being, liberty will be cheated.

Most Americans, perhaps with the exception a few in white robes, will agree that the ban on interracial marriages is nothing more than prejudice at work. Soon, we will look back at the arguments against same-sex marriages and see, like the ban on interracial marriages, that they are backed by nothing more than bigotry, prejudice and fear.

    "Gay marriage" is an oxymoron.

You want to be homosexual ? Go be homosexual. There's pretty much nothing stopping you from that endeavor in this country.

But you want the rest of us to pretend that two men (or two women) are the same as a man+a woman ?

    That's literally insane.

Don't want to give up your membership in the KKK?

Your opinion is, thank god, becoming as antideluvian as the dinosaurs.

Then deal with that under your religion , and keep it out of government.

Since marriage is done under the auspices of the government, likewise divorce is as well.

Heterosexual marriage and divorce is acknowledged and accepted by the federal government and all 50 states.

For common sense reasons, I might add.

Homosexual "marriage" ? No good reason to acknowledge that.

Except in a church that believes in it.

Absolutely. Though minus this, half the posters here would have nothing to rant about.

I personally don't care one way or the other as it doesn't affect me. I just don't think it would be right to force any church to marry anyone if it is against their beliefs. Churches should be granted immunity from discrimination laws.

    Same here.

I don't care what people think of themselves, as long as they don't want me to be compelled to acknowledge their relationship as something it's not.

I don't think anyone is suggesting churches be forced to marry anyone? The Catholic Church does it all the time re divorce--meaning declines to marry people.

Demopublican said no to divorce, and you said keep it in your church. Were you talking about divorce?

I don't support it but it should be left to the legislatures in each state. It should not be imposed from Washington.

    I'd be cool with that.

But good luck finding one same-sex "marriage" supporter who agrees with that.

They all want to shove their beliefs down our throats. Or up our you-know-whats...
