Default Tidbits and factoids about our Ravens...

    Super Bowl:

    Aftermath

Notice how nearly every player deflects credit elsewhere?

    Parade

I hope the NFL weenies were paying attention to the size, energy and excitement of the crowd.

    Offseason:

Salary cap situation in the AFC North

Ravens - 12.9 Million Under (Assumes Flacco's current rookie contract)
Bengals - 50.6 Million Under (Only time he lets go of a nickel is to get a better grip)
Steelers - 13.8 Million OVER (That's money well spent! NOT!)
Browns - 45.6 Million Under (If they ever get their heads out of their collective backsides, they might be able to resurrect a storied team)

    Free Agency

It will not be easy for the FO to retain as many impact players as we fans would like. Remember, however, the FO will try to keep as many as possible (meaning as many as the cap will allow).

    Draft

They have faced this problem nearly every year for the last decade - good record of accomplishment equals low draft position. The FO seems to have excelled in facing that problem. Let's wait and see how they pull it off.

As fans, we know the Ravens will never do anything the easy way or in a pretty way. I have faith that the organization (Owner, GM, FO, coaches, staff and players) will make us proud to be fans.

Didn't say they won't give us heart palpitations from time to time, only that they will make us proud!

    Feel free to chip in!

In 2000, the Ravens lost a low-scoring game at home against the Steelers by 3 points, and they literally gave away a game on the road to the Deadskins (a far lesser team). In 2012, the same two things happened...

It didn't occur to me, but you are correct!

Both the 2000 and 2012 teams had 3 game losing streaks that made many figure they were a one-and-done playoff proposition at best...

The Landovers have beaten the eventual Super Bowl winner each of the past 3 seasons. But as a fan, I'll take a SB title over the Maryland State Championship any day.

    Another (completely)coincidental parallel between 2000 & 2010:

The loss at Raljon in 2000 brought about the switch from Banks to Dilfer at QB, the 2012 game led to the firing of Cameron.

You're forgetting that the new cap floor will loosen that grip significantly.

if some of our free agents redo their contracts we might be able to keep most of them.

In each of the past four season, the team that has lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Eagles home opener has gone on to win the Super Bowl.

Also each of our Super Bowl runs feature a win against the Denver Broncos
