Default Family enters Edmonson High, attacks female student, starts hour-long brawl..

Several members of a Baltimore family are facing charges after they entered a city school illegally and assaulted a ninth grade female student Wednesday.

School police did not charge the mother of an Edmonson High School Student who broke into the school with her boyfriend and several other family members to assault her son s girlfriend shortly after she ended their relationship. The victim and her teacher were injured during the confrontation which students say lasted for nearly an hour and involved up to fifteen people.

School police did not initially charge the boy s parents or other family member who participated in the attack. Only after a teacher complained to administrators did police issue arrest warrants for the mother and her boyfriend.

Police now say the mother is in custody facing charges of assault and trespassing. Arrest warrants are pending for other family members.
School security not to be found.

Imagine if the thug family was armed.....

this is pretty much a common theme from the School Police, to just sweep things under the rug. This kind of culture comes from the top, what say you Alonzo. Why do teachers constantly have to press School Police to take action and do their damn job to keep a safe environment for students and teachers????

You would have thought that the police would have been called asap -- how in the world does a brawl inside a City school, with outsiders involved, go on for over an hour?

A brawl that lasted for over an hour in the middle of a school day, how is that possible?

The news media should ask the Mayor and the Chief of the Baltimore City Police to explain this situation.

I am glad to be old, things have changed so much for the worse, I will passing on and my city, my country will just be a former shell of itself.

I graduated from Edmondson in the 60s, in those days, if you missed detention or were disrespectful to a teacher or administrator your were immediately suspended.

I was not a part of the "greatest generation" that saved our nation, but now I really believed the greatest generation saved our nation, only to see it crumble into decay.

Can't wait to hear why this lasted so long. The excuse should be classic.

We need some answers for how something like this can go on. Were city police notified at all if school police could not handle it?

I spelled it the exact same way it is spelled in the story. Blame the copy editor.

Hard to believe that the schools would allow this o happen in the post Columbine era.

Not a bogus story. My apologies to Jeebus on that. But I refuse to under estimate your ability to be smarter than a copy editor.

This is a most interesting spectrum in Maryland School Security. The spectrum goes from a severe over reaction to a minor offense in Anne Arundel County to a complete lack of reaction to a severe offense in Baltimore City. I'm starting to think that School Secuirty needs to be handled by the Maryland State Police. That can provide for a uniformity in security policy and proceedures all across the State. I think the AAPD and BPD have more than demonstrated that they cannot reasonably handle the responsibility. Hopefully the MSP will be able to find that happy medium between political hysterics and non responsive.

It's a little hard to believe the details are correct when the name of the school is incorrect. It's Edmondson-Westside High School.

REALLY??? Asked and answered yet you still manage to come up with rediculous excuses and the tried-and-true, albeit pathetic, "spell-check" bashing. You never run out of excuses do you? Is the momma one of your sorority sistas by chance?

Bless your little ignorant heart. Who peed in your Cheerios this morning? BTW, the good sisters and my educated mama taught me how to spell, so I don't need spell check. And when I make an error and someone calls it to my attention, I learn from it. And the correct spelling, once again, is ridiculous. You're just unable to learn, poor thing.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

So tell us, are you still questioning the veracity of the news report of the violence at this school?
