I think I just did prove it......

I think Fletcher is under rated, but he is not in Ray's class as an impact player and leader....one player defines greatness, the other exemplifies the value of hardwork, determination and perseverance ....it's that simple...

the article written was pure homer tripe at it's finest and not worth the electrons spend to post it on the web....

Fletcher never made the people around him better, Lewis did.....
That's about as ignorant as the article you're trying to mock.

I like Fletcher a lot. But he is not in the same league as Lewis has been throughout his career. It is true that he is currently better than Lewis now, but that's because Lewis has retired.

You would be hard-pressed to find anybody employed by the NFL that would agree with the author of the link in the OP.

agreed, the only arguments going on with knowledgeable foot ball fans are about lewis, butkus and maybe singetary ........

flecter is a decent player but you will never hear his name in a sentence with "all time greats" ........

oh I'm sorry...didn't mean to upset you....I should have praised the first grade level writing and infantile logic and reasoning since it seems to pass as legitimate writing to some.....

please don't even try to talk about being ignorant...you've spent the better part of the last three months being a cross between old fan, boobie jr and moon on this board.....

You said Fletcher doesn't make players around him better. Anyone who played with him or watched him play knows better than that. Much like the author of the article, there's no need to disparage one player to compliment the other. That said, the gap between the two is minimal.

Mark Twain said there were three types of lies: Lies, Damn lies and STATISTICS! In the case of comparing Lewis and Fletcher it could not be more true.

There's no doubt, Fletcher has been a very good middle linebacker. He also has had good character and durability. But Lewis redefined the position. Ask any GM who they'd want in their prime and, no disrespect for Fletcher, Lewis would be the pick every time. It's not even as close as the stats would indicate.
    Yeah, it's minimal all right.

The whole point is that Fletcher hasn't received the same accolades despite being nearly as good. He should have had a pre-game dance.

Yeah, the dancing stuff really got Lewis all that attention. His actual performance didn't matter at all.

LF hasn't received the same amount of accolades because it's simply not close.

The amount of hardware collected by Lewis should hammer that point through your thick skull.

I thought the point was that LF is a better player than Ray. at least, that's what the author said his point was.

saying Ray is only "considered" better, because of his pre-game dance, is like saying the Hogs weren't a good defensive line, they just had a nickname and crossdressing fans.

Keep making up false arguments and ignoring the overall point because, god forbid, someone has the audacity to compare someone to Saint Ray Ray.

Nice to see hardware matters when it isn't rookie of the year. Oops, walked into that one didn't you?

That was HIS point. Mine is the difference isn't as dismissive as your fans would want to believe. "Redefined the position" made me chuckle though.

Why do you hate the Ravens so much? Is it jealousy of a vastly superior organization than the one you root for or is it.......what do you call it, oh yeah an "inferiority complex"?

No, since I never questioned RGIII winning rookie of the year. I think he, Wilson and Luck equally deserved it so I didn't question it at all.

You can compare players to Ray....Taylor, Butkus...you know, the other LB's considered to be among the best LB's ever.

Taylor and Butkus redefined the position.

Please don't use "Lewis" and "cut" in the same sentence. That's disrespectful to the victims.
