Default Joe Flacco - The real McCoy!

Is Joe Flacco the best QB in the league right now? I think he is. He is definitely a throw-back to the days of old. Married his high school sweetheart. Just a regular kid, huh?

    His comments:

On Letterman: "The NFL playbook really isn't that involved, come on man."
When asked: "Do you just look for the open receiver?" "Yep, that's just about it."

On Kelly Ripa show: "What do you do in the huddle?" His reply, " Well, they yell at me a lot."
"What about at the line of scrimmage, what do you say?' His reply, "All that stuff is really meaningless. Just call the snap."

Bottom line: Joe Flacco is for real. Unpretentious and very unassuming. We are very lucky to Flacco behind Center.

I dunno, man. Maybe top 10-15. I can think of a dozen QBs who are at least as good. Joe just basically rode the D for 5 years. He had the best RB and FB in the league. His WRs could catch passes nobody else could catch. He was just lucky a lot of the time also. So really...I think he's worth around $10-12M/year tops. If he's not happy with that, he can walk. They should get Alex Smith and a bunch of draft picks and prove to Joe that NOBODY does well after they leave the Ravens. NOBODY.

    That is all.

Joe Fluko is barely a top 25 QB, Matt Flynn is better than him because Skip Bayless said so. Everybody knows that Skip Bayless is the ultimate QB guru, we shall bow down to his greatness, hail Skip Bayless. You know what the Ravens need to fire Ozzie and hire Skip Bayless to be the GM, the Ravens will be perfect in every way because that's the bottomline because Skip Bayless said so.

    Tell it, brotha!!!

(And how bout THIS? It's JOE'S fault Cameron got fired. Cam is THE BEST offensive coordinator EVER. And it was just his misfortune to get saddled with a "deer in the headlights" guy like Joe. Cam called the perfect plays EVERY TIME. Joe failed to execute. Coaches coach; players play. Cam was the scapegoat for Joe Flacco. Period. End of story. Bank on it. Word. Etc.)

Cameron should be in the Hall of Fame and I'll make sure he gets in (sarcasm)

On serious note the Super Bowl MVP tour continued for our Joe Cool as he and Dana attended the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show tonight in New York:

Joe and Marky Ramone from the legendary band the Ramones:

Enjoy the ride Joe, you deserve it.

Yes he is indeed and he should be studying his playbook on Friday night like Peyton Manning does. You don't see Peyton doing commercials, attending events or doing Saturday Night Live, oh wait........

On another note I'm watching NFL Total Access and Jacoby Jones was just on there and he said that he's going to borrow Joe's brand new car (beautiful new red Stingray) for six months and put rims on it. That dude is funny LOL.

    Funny indeed.

Now, here's a much more serious thought. You know, in the real world, people have budgets, and they have to live within their budgets. (Not governments of course; just real peeps.) So...the Ravens knew for several years that they were going to have to sign Joe, their franchise QB. But in the meantime, they continued to shell out big bucks to other players. Now, Joe's bill is finally coming due. And the question is: Do the Ravens really have the money to pay Joe what he is worth? Maybe they do, and maybe they don't. They haven't been particularly fiscally frugal, and maybe the bottom line is they can't HAVE their cake, and eat it too. So while they might want Joe; and while they definitely want Joe at THEIR asking price; isn't is a possibility (or probability) that they're being childish by wanting what they might not really be able to afford? Have they really done the fiscally responsible things to lay the foundation to acquire a true franchise QB? Or did they squander precious resources away, and now want JOE to make up the difference for their fiscal irresponsibility? YOU make the call.

Joe's good but come on man, top 10? Can he make that tight crossing throw every single time? The answer is no. I've seen guys like Bradford, Cam, and to a lesser extent Jake Locker and Christian Ponder make that tight, crisp throw more often than Joe does. Most of these guys are also more mobile, and if we switch to the pistol offense as I think we will next year I'd rather have 20 other guys who are more mobile leading our offense. Plus, he's getting a little long in the tooth for a QB. Guys at that position are usually only effective for a few years in this league, and I think it's time we take a chance on a guy like Barkley who I think will fall to the Ravens.

In short, let Joe walk and spend the money resigning guys like Bobbie Williams who are more deserving.

Wow. The pistol. I hadn't thought about that. THERE'S the ticket. Anybody who knows ANYthing about football knows that the pistol is the future.

Not only that, but Joe has no tattoos. Just like at CP. LOTS of tattoos. He even got another one after the super bowl. Joe? Not a single tattoo. What's up with THAT? Obviously, Joe can't cut it in the 21st century NFL. Sure, he'd have been good (and tall) back in the day. But now? History. He'd be lucky to be second string for the Raiders.
