Default Boomer's on Ray's case again..

What's up with Boomer Esiason being nasty again on radio. Heard his comment this morning that they didn't want Ray to have to cover Vernon Davis or Crabtree and that he was a statue out there. Saying if they want to built a statue they should just use the one that played the game and he should come clean again and tell the whole story. What the hell made him judge and jury: I really wish someone would talk to him..

Both Boomer and Dan Marino seem a bit angry to me at times. I wonder why that is?

I don't know what to say. Well I do, but it's a political comparison and I don't like seeing them in the sports arena.

Scoreboard indeed. Boomer was a promising young QB that never lived up to his billing. Ray was considered to small but played beyound his expectations. The difference is Ray was a team player while Boomer was an I guy. Listen to his talk, it is usually I did this or that. Jealousy also is a big part of it but really. Boomer you are not long for the job you are in.

Who cares, Boomer's Super Bowl stats were worse than Trent Dilfer's!:
    Boomer:
    11-25-144-0-1

    Dilfer:
    12-26-153-1-0

It doesn't matter if he was "like a statue", his team won the damn game.

We just have to accept that Ray Lewis gives idiots the opportunity to get up on their soapbox and make themselves look stupid.

I was at the Mr. Greengenes show at Rams Head this weekend and I was rocking my Super Bowl trophy shirt and this guy says "nice shirt" and I thank him, before he continues by saying he's a Redskin fan and complains about Lewis talking about God so much. I said when you're as good as Ray Lewis is, people are going to put a microphone in your face and he can say whatever he wants. I also said, when you're good, people will automatically dislike you for no reason and mentioned RG3 and the "cornball brother" comments. He prattled on some more and soon I tuned him out.

But I just don't get it. Ray Lewis is more dividing a subject than gay marriage or abortion it seems. Why people care so much is beyond me.

It's pretty low to take a shot at a guy that has had a stellar career and his last game is the Super Bowl where he was involved with a game winning goal line stance.

    Doesn't look intelligent either....

Most people who are carrying a grudge against Ray Lewis, supposedly based on that long-ago case, are ignorant of the actual details of the case and are basing their prejudice on hearsay. Boomer doesn't have that excuse; I assume he knows a lot about it. His thing is he's trying to build himself up by running a great man down. It is trash talk and not worth listening to.

Guys who talk and back it up usually have many fans, and many haters. It's the way it goes.

It's pretty simple, actually. Boomer's job at CBS is most likely at risk, so he's trying to make a case to be kept on by being "controversial". Same thing for Shannon Sharpe calling out Belichick for not doing the interview. They're running scared.

They think they can save their jobs by becoming Skip Bayless. That won't work with a large audience that just wants to hear about today's game.

This pretty much sums it up. Ray's team just won the Super Bowl on a goal line stand. Ray played all snaps.

Again as I have said with others, if Boomer is so concerned what happened why not help advance the story? Why not also call out the Atlanta DA's office for the poor job they did on the case? Why not also always remind people that this was not a murder but a homicide. If people don't know the difference then they need to look it up.

Boomer needs to come clean and explain why he was never as good as he thought he was playing at MD.

I wouldn't assume Boomer knows any more about the case than 99% of the national media / fan collective does. I'm sure he didn't read The Sun and the AJC every day during the events. I'm sure he didn't watch and/or listen to all of the live trial coverage. And 13 years later, I'm sure all he "knows" at this point is what most people outside the area do... the two sentence summary.

Any adult man who still goes by the name of "Boomer" is a joke anyhow. Who cares what he thinks. Ray Lewis is a first ballot HOFER now with TWO Lombardi Trophies who WILL get a statute because he has and will likely forever be identified as the FACE of the BALTIMORE RAVENS. Eaisiason (who can even spell his stupid name) is an NFL has been and this is his only claim to fame.
