Default Murder Suicide at College Park

    http://www.wusa9.com/news/article/24...tudent-Injured

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA) -- Two University of Maryland students are dead and a third student injured in what Prince George's County Police say was a murder/suicide.

According to police, at approximately 1:17 a.m., they received a report of a shooting at a single family home on the 8700 block of 36th Avenue in College Park, Maryland.

Police say that when they arrived on the scene, they found one of the students shot in front of the house, one student down on the street critically shot and a third student in the backyard who was pronounced dead at the scene
Sad day at UMCP. Few details on the shooter.

Sad AND disturbing. What is it with people these days? And does everyone, even college students, own a [deleted] gun?

Very sad, indeed. I'm sure the parents of all involved are devastated. Oddly enough, this is the same area (not sure if the same street) that a UMd student was murdered in a drug-related break-in, in 2011: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_807628.html

There's a lot of crime near/on the UMd campus, so I (sort of) appreciate the concern that some students may have for the need to own a gun...but I'd like to hear/read of just one example, in College Park, where a student/faculty/staff thwarted a bad guy with a gun? More often than not, chit like this happens, exactly because a student had a gun....

They call it college park but it's PG County and it's very dangerous. If the victims would have had a gun they could have blown that POS away.

    Really?

    How so?

They were all students and roommates (including the perp), and one does NOT normally expect your roommate to shoot you....just sayin'

This was NOT a case of a PGCo thug coming into the house.

Don't you know..most PG Co. thugs murder/suicide with the intent to rob...of course the robbery part doesn't usually work out too well..

How the hell do you prevent something like this?? Background check on college roommates now??

Murder is so easy when the vics aren't expecting it, not to mention unarmed. Damn cowards.

Damn local prisons must be busting at the seams by now with all the thuggery.

Per WaPo, the shooter was an engineering grad student who suffered from mental illness and completed his undergrad studies at Morgan State.

I'm sure he's been consuming psychotropics for at least a decade...

I wonder where "Dayvon" obtained his firearm?

I wonder what law would have stopped this violent act from happening?

If only there were a way to ensure that psychopaths kill themselves first.

Oddly you didn't post objections to his threads.

Yes. And others would have been here if he was white.

I haven't posted objections to anyone's threads. Off topic banter will usually suffice.

Do you have a history of psychotropic consumption? Just curious...
