Default Baltimore man ordered to serve almost nine years in prison in slaying of half-brother

A Baltimore man was sentenced Monday to serve a day shy of nine years in prison for killing his half-brother in the parking lot of a Glen Burnie restaurant.

In November of last year Johnson, 25, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the Nov. 13, 2011 fatal shooting of Andrew "Drew" Johnson in the parking lot of Mo's Seafood.

Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Paul A. Hackner imposed a 10-year sentence on Cornelius K. Johnson and suspended one year and a day of it, according to court records.

According to prosecutors, Cornelius Johnson had ended a romantic relationship with a woman with whom he had a son. He shot his half-brother after learning that Drew Johnson had secretly become romantically involved with her, prosecutors said. They said the victim may have had a weapon.
