"Abby Huntsman, the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman tweeted: "That water bottle shouldn't have been so far for him to grab. Too much awkwardness in one speech! #Rubio #SOTU."

"Another from Ana Marie Cox, a blogger and the founding editor of Wonkette: "Speech with which Rubio stepped to the side to grab a drink inversely proportional to how long he wanted it. POOR GUY."

Pop McCain/Clueless Palin, Shuffles/Lying Ryan, now they're putting their hopes on Awkward Rubio. Substance, they have none and couldn't find it if they walked into it.

Not only was Rubio awkward but his speech? was awful.............he should come prepared or stay home. Look what happened to the four above, they weren't prepared and got tossed aside like used toilet paper.

    Same old GOP...............................

    Almost correct.

A US Senator (R) takes a sip of water = scandal.

A US Senator (D) takes a private plane to a foreign country to participate in sex acts with underage prostitutes = media crickets.

Rubio had to take a sip of water to wash down all that crap Hussein shoved down our throats during his annual The State Of Me speech.

Default Rubio and the sip of water

Look I'm not a fan of this guy, don't have much of an opinion one way or another, but really? All the fuss about this water bottle business is insane. Ok it was awkward, but it's been played so wildly out of proportion. Hardly hear anything about what he actually said. Crazy.

What's dismaying is that these arguments from Rubio were adjudicated in the last election, and soundly rejected by the electorate. Rubio is not even trying to peddle a new line of b.s.

By now you would think that someone would ask Rubio which Florida projects he is willing to relinquish in the pursuit of his vision of a smaller government. During the last base closure round, President Bush moved tens of thousands of military jobs to Florida (at the time governed by Governor Bush). Sen. Rubio could show us the way towards 'smaller government' by proposing that we close some of those bases.

A man from a state which is kept afloat by federal funds flowing into Social Security, Medicare, the Defense Department and NASA should at least be asked to lead the way towards his vision of less government by offering up some Florida spending cuts. Or he should do us the favor of keeping quiet.

Therein lies the problem, the most interesting part of Rubio's speech was his need to quench his thurst. I thought repubs were trying to start anew, nope same old garbage...................

    Rubio and the Zombies

On the other hand, the G.O.P. reply, delivered by Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, was both interesting and revelatory. And I mean that in the worst way. For Mr. Rubio is a rising star, to such an extent that Time magazine put him on its cover, calling him “The Republican Savior.” What we learned Tuesday, however, was that zombie economic ideas have eaten his brain.

In case you’re wondering, a zombie idea is a proposition that has been thoroughly refuted by analysis and evidence, and should be dead — but won’t stay dead because it serves a political purpose, appeals to prejudices, or both. The classic zombie idea in U.S. political discourse is the notion that tax cuts for the wealthy pay for themselves, but there are many more. And, as I said, when it comes to economics it appears that Mr. Rubio’s mind is zombie-infested.

I would not be surprised if such perceived weakness of resolve ~ thanks to Rubio's televised actions ~ might actually encourage a rogue nation like North Korea. What in the world was he thinking? And why did the GOP not consider Rubio's actions beforehand?
