What services is eHarmony withholding from you? I would say none since they don't offer anything your interested in. Same as BET.

Let's get to the heart of the matter... Let's say I'm 50 year old heterosexual who had a pretty successful dating life and I thought I knew what made men and women tick in regards to dating and relationships. I get an idea one day that I think I can bestow some of that knowledge to others and even make a business out of it. But since I'm not gay I have no idea what makes gay people tick. No issue with gays, it's just all my experience has been in heterosexual relationships. You're telling my I can take my ideas to the web without catering to you also? We're not talking about a cake here as we were on the other thread. We're talking about my specific area of expertise which is hetersexual dating. I would argue (as I am) that you are now taking away my rights.

That right there is a very good question. Doesn't the Goose/Gander parity law apply here?

Here's the NJ Attorney General's release on the topic. This is pretty much water under the bridge now anyway.

    What really hurt eHarmony?

Setting up the false expectations in women that there was the "perfect match" out there in a database. I was married long before eHarmony, but I have male friends who have used it. They all tell me the women on there are thinking marriage from the first email, and all seem to have this grand idea that Mr. Perfect is just a click away.

Heck, one guy I know met and dated a woman from eHarmony for 4 months, one day she texted him and broke up.....The reason....in his questionnare, one of his answers about social drinking were out of line with her belief system.....4 months it took her to figure it out.

Maybe the answer is the "looking for NSa Sex" dating sites, at least there no one is kiddin themselves about "perfect match" ....

As for the gays demanding "their own" site on eHarmony, just another example of the inability of the militant gay movement to tolerate anything that does not capitulate 100% to their agenda.....

There's really no need for me to read that. We're discussing what we think about a website catering to hetersexuals only.

You didn't address my hypothetical business question above. Although I have a feeling once I broke down in those simple terms you realized how ridiculous it is for gays to demand a website cater to them also.

There's a huge difference between a company that offers a product or service and refuses to sell to you solely because you are gay versus a company that merely specializes in a certain type of business. It's not eHarmony's fault you aren't interested in their services.

once again the "tolerance" of an ultra minority seeking "special interest" staus based on their sexual desires is on display. It is not "let's all get along and tolerate each other's lifestyles" with the militant gay movement it is "accept us, capitualte to our demands or we will set out to destroy you!"

and they wonder why the other 98% of the world is not so open-armed to accepting them.....

I really think gays are not asking for anything. Why do they need the acceptance of white male with a monkey for an avatar?

NOW there are various dating sites catering to different niche groups. When the NJ AG's agreement with eHarmony was reached, it was 2008. I don't remember there being a plethora of dating sites at that time catering to different niche groups.

    I am so offended!!!

In all seriousness, I do not see any differences between this and eharmony nor do I have a problem with either.

FYI it's not against TOS to only select certain portions of a post to quote. Some take offense rather easily (and unnecessarily it usually turns out). Posters might want to try and work on that. What works for me is that if something can be taken two ways, I interpret it in my favor.
