Baltimore needs an upscale dance club. It will attract world-class performers (AND visitors) such as Miguel Migs (aka Petalpusher), Little Louie Vega, Jay Denes (aka Blue Six aka Naked Music NYC), Jesse Saunders, Andy Caldwell, The Thievery Corporation, Nightmares On Wax, Jimpster, Jonny Montana, Coldcut, David Guetta, Mateo & Matos, J. Boogie, D.J. Icey, Dubtribe Sound System, Faithless, Freemasons, Groove Junkies, Lisa Shaw, Marshall Jefferson, Maurice Joshua, Afro-Mystik , Alton Miller, Amp Fiddler, Arling & Cameron, Armand Van Helden, Frankie Knuckles, Arnold Jarvis, ATB, Aterlife, Audio Soul Project , Morcheeba, Byron Stingily, Claude Von Stroke...shall I go on? I'm just getting started. Google any of the above to affirm their world-class status.
And be assured, if you haven't heard of them, then neither has The Riff Raff. Some of the above performers (and others like them) are booked in several countries well in advance - and they are expensive. But if this theater doers it correctly, they will book class acts with a classy cover charge to go along with it. That cover charge will raise the bar regarding the quality of the clientele.
