Default Woman dies after downing 2 gallons of Coca-Cola daily

Maybe Bloomberg is on to something. Tragic

"Heavy drinking may have led to the death of a New Zealand woman — but it wasn't alcohol she was glugging. It was Coca-Cola, TVNZ reports."

"She reportedly drank some 2.2 gallons of the soda every day, AFP notes, a habit that went on for years. Her family called it an "addiction" that resulted in the removal of multiple rotten teeth and the birth of at least one child lacking tooth enamel; her partner said Natasha Harris suffered withdrawal symptoms if she didn't drink the stuff."

Unless soda is banned altogether Bloomberg's action will not have any effect.

She was drinking the equivalent of 4+ 2-liter bottles per day. No shocker that there were health problems.

All I got out of this article is that the amount of caffeine I consume in a day is probably three to five times that of alleged "safe" consumption levels.

I'll through that into the same category as my red meat consumption level which is allegedly 15 times the "safe recommended level".

Sorry but that's her own fault. You can't really protect someone like this from herself.

I hate to tell you this, but, you are going to die some day if you keep it up.

I don't think I could drink this amount of water in a day. Kind of impressive in a sick way.

Over a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Even if red meat is bad for me (which I disagree that there is "conclusive" evidence) in the long term, I still need it for protein, fat, and creatine in the near term to improve my strength and power to survive in the near term.

My caffeine intake is actually not that much; most people would be surprised to find out how much they consume and how it's considered dangerous by the people quoted in this link.

Was it really the soda by itself ~ or did she also drink it from Styrofoam cups?

That would be a death wish in and of itself.

Man that Coke is a real b***h. It's something I struggle with myself. It's funny but in my life I've done just about every drug there is. Some of those are the types of drugs that are supposedly so addictive that you're hooked from day one and I've never ever come close to being addicted to them. I was always able to do them in a take it or leave it type of way. If they were around great, let's party... if no oh well party another time. And it's been years since I've done anything but pot and I've never once craved any of that highly addictive stuff. BUT, I simply cannot shake the damned coca cola. Kicking that habit has been as hard for me as quitting smoking. Damned HFCS... but I've got no one to blame but myself. Just makes me wonder just how bad products like Coca Cola truly are for you when they have a tighter grip on me than some of the stuff I've taken.
