Default Craigslist meeting leads to armed robbery

Sterling man charged with stealing laptop; met owner on Craigslist

A Sterling man was charged Tuesday with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for stealing a laptop at gunpoint after setting up a meeting with the owner on Craigslist, Herndon police officials said in a release.

Mohamed Darseidia, 25, stole the MacBook Pro laptop on Dec. 27 after arranging a meeting with the owner in the 1000 block of Elden St., police alleged. The suspect fled the meeting after taking the laptop.

Darseidia is currently being held on no bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

If you are selling a small item, just make arrangements to meet at a local mall or upscale coffee shop.

I used to sell my used cars on my own, not anymore. Too many people getting hurt or worse, during test drives for unknown strangers.

You get less from a dealer, but it is safer and far less complicated.
