Cool Chubby Checker sues HP for a HALF BILLION DOLLARS

...for their "Chubby Checker" app that didn't have anything to do with music.....

As Spinal Tap once noted it’s a thin line between clever and stupid. And it looks like Hewlett-Packard found that line – and ran right past it.

For starters – really? There’s really a need out there for an app that measures the size of a man’s, um, package? While it’s a great topic for jokes and myth, anyone who feels the need to download such an app would be a field day for Sigmund Freud.
Now, I'm no great fan of Hewlett Packard (what they did to Compaq after they acquired them is just criminal), but $500m? Really. I'd bet that if (the real) Chubby hadn't sued them, nobody would have ever known about the app. Should (the real) Chubby win and get paid something? Sure, why not. A half billion dollars? NO EFFING WAY!

Interesting, coming from a performer whose stage name is a blatant rip-off of Fats Domino.

I remember back in the early 60s, when I was a big fan of Mad Magazine, there was a piece listing imaginary stage-names that combined a synonym for overweight with a board game. The only one I remember is "Pudgy Parcheesi".
