Iran Backs Nuclear-Free Middle East in Dig at Israeli Arsenal

Iran supports the establishment of a Middle East free of nuclear weapons and backs efforts to dispose of existing ones in the region, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said today.

“We are at the forefront of efforts to scrap nuclear weapons,” Mehmanparast said at a press conference in Tehran aired live by Iran’s state television.

Iranian authorities complain of double standards over their country’s nuclear program, which they say is solely civilian while the U.S. and Israel say it may have military intent. Israel neither confirms nor denies its reputed nuclear-weapons arsenal. The London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies estimates that Israel has as many as 200 nuclear warheads.

That's the best joke you've ever posted. I didn't know you had it in ya Wiz

WASHINGTON—Iran has advanced its nuclear program to where it will be able to produce weapons-grade fuel in two to four months, nuclear experts and former United Nations inspectors said.

The new assessments feed growing alarm in the U.S., Europe and Israel that efforts to deny Tehran a nuclear-weapons capability could be rendered futile by as early as next summer.

Ahmadinejad: Iran won't relinquish nuclear program

Iranian president says demand for 'red line' insulting; blasts Netanyahu's UN bomb sketch as 'primitive.' Islamic Republic will never yield to international pressure, he says

Iran will not back down on its nuclear program despite economic pressures and Western sanctions, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday at a press conference in Tehran.

"If some think they can make pressure on Iran, they are wrong and must correct their attitude. We are not a people who will fall on the nuclear issue," he said.

The Yankees have a lot of money to spend on baseball players and Tampa Bay does not. Tampa Bay supports a salary cap because they think it's best for the sport.

The TB argument is essentially the argument Iran is making.

The Israelis are never going to give up their nukes. That said, I don't understand why we're fine with Israel having nukes, but we're supposed to go to war if Iran gets close to having them. If both sides have nukes, neither side will use them. Mutual Assured Destruction works. Just ask the Pakistanis and Indians, who fought several wars before they both got nukes. They still hate each other, but they aren't going to war and risk their own annihilation.

Default Attacking Iran based on BS and lies will be a disaster

    .
    Fighting Terrorism
How Democracies Can Defeat Domestic and International Terrorism

    By Benjamin Netanyahu ©1995

    Quote
    pp 122-123, 128
“Finally, Iran has two institutes conducting nuclear research; the principal one at Isfahan is developing techniques for uranium enrichment under the guise of a civilian research project. This means that, within a short time, Iran will have the raw materials, the plants, and the technical know-how to produce its own bombs. It would then be a matter of five to seven years at most before Iran is able to assemble such weapons.”

"This is the great peril, and it has not been addressed. The democracies have wasted much time. They are approaching the twelfth hour. They can wait no longer."
    End Quote

That lying Zionist, Netanyahu, was spewing this alarmist BS as far back as 1995. Today, in 2013, 18 years later, the Zionist liars are still working to get the U.S. to attack Iran, still claiming Iran will have the bomb “soon”.

You assume Iranians think like Russians or Americans. The Ayatollah believes Allah will come when Armageddon takes place. It is their responsibility to make it happen.

No, both Aytollah's have issued Fatwa's prohibiting nuclear weapons. So if anyone can prove that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons. The Majlis would have to remove him as Ayatollah for violating the Fatwa.

The only reason Israel believes Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons is because when Israel was telling US and the UN that their nuclear program was for peaceful purposes and refusing to allow UN or US inspectors in to inspect their program. Israel knows they were lying through their teeth to the world and they were building nuclear weapons. Israel thinks that since they could not resist the temptation to build nuclear weapons. Their is no way Iran can resist the temptation. We shall see.

Sounds like evangelical Christians, and the reason they have such a fondness for hard-line Israeli politicians.

And why would you expect a country like Iran who is governed by a religious figure in accordance with the Koran to act like countries who are ran by Prime Minister's in accordance with a constitution?

Iran has a President and a constitution. It's a media-driven myth that the people in charge of Iran's government and military are somehow insane. Not-nice autocrats, yes; insane, no.

As for belief in "Armageddon", let's all be thankful that Rick Santorum didn't get any closer to the presidency than he did. (He won 11 primaries.)
