Unless the salary cap goes up I don't see how ticket prices are in any way tied to player salaries. No matter what they pay Joe they can't be over the cap.

looks like a significant number of teams have raised ticket prices for next year....I do agree that at some point the NFL is going to price itself out of reach of the average (read working class) fans ability to pay for tickets. As it stands now the NFL Sunday ticket is cheaper than the cheapest season ticket at M&T....hate to see the average joe squeezed out....
there are a fair number of factors in the ticket price, the payroll is just one of them. As long as the Ravens are putting a competitive product on the field the fans are getting a decent return on their investments...unlike certain franchises within a 200 mile radius of Baltimore...

They have not raised ticket prices since 2009. I expected to see one this year. We are not forced to buy them and I personally have no problem with a 10% increase. Then again I only have to pay for one seat.

It never ends with Biscotti. First he charges for playoff games that never take place, than he has the nerve to lock his players out because he wants more money, than he RIF's staff to save a few more bucks during the lockout HE DEMANDED and now he sticks it to the fans. What a dirtbag.
Is there anyone left for him to gouge? Players, employees...now the fans.

at least get your facts straight-- it's the league that requires teams to sell tickets for potential playoff games, not the franchises..they are required to sell tickets for all potential home playoff games, that's why all season ticket holders were billed for a wild card game and championship game..the season ticket holders gets credit towards next years season tickets or they can ask for a refund...the teams cannot print tickets unless the league says so...the league also sets the prices for said playoff games, not the teams...
here's a hint-- the price of everything goes up.....season tickets are a luxury, not an essential....the market will determine how much the fan is willing to pay....
how does he gouge the players? the league sets the salary cap...again manufactured drama on your part....
he acknowledged his mistake during the lockout...everyone got paid and kept their jobs...fair to say that when it comes to SB, facts are not your friend nor do they matter when you are ranting...

That is BS. He is one of the top owners in sports. Replace "gouge" with "respond to market forces" and you might be nearer the facts. This is big business, in case you didn't notice. You don't like the way he does business, don't do business with his organization, which last time I checked was the best in the league.

I didn't know this part of your post. I'll add this, I only paid $110.00 for the playoff game against the Colts. And I got those tix 2nd hand, so that may have even included a mark up from the season tix holder.
I think those are great prices for a post season football game in a city with a very supportive fanbase.

The Ravens had a pay as they play option this year so not sure what the problem is there. I only had to pay for the one playoff game. Even having to pay the full amount in years past, what didn't get used was applied to the next seasons tickets.
Two things when it comes to cost...first is that you are not forced to pay. Second, unless you are a season ticket holder it shouldn't matter how they charged for playoff tickets.
The NFL as a whole locked out players last year and they where not the only ones that reduced staff during that time.
Owners are out to make money, BFD. It's not like the Ravens have not put out a quality product for most of the time they have been here. Again if you don't have to go if you don't like how things are ran.

The NFL first and foremost is a business.
I am surprised the ticket increase was only 10 percent.
As business men, I would assume that "charge what the market will bear" is NOT in play.
The Ravens have 10,000 names on a waiting list for season tickets. The number could be higher if the Ravens wanted to expand the list.
They also operate a PSL market place where PSLs are sold by fans to other fans, for steep prices.
From a business standpoint, the Ravens could keep raising the ticket prices until the waiting list for tickets was down to say 5,000.

Your 2013 Season Ticket rewnewal information has been mailed and your invoice can now be viewed and paid online by logging into My Ravens Ticket Account My Ravens Ticket Account. The payment schedule remains the same as years past: 50% due by March 13th and the final installment due June 3rd.
As in years past, we are offering three payment plan options:
2-month plan - first charge on March 13 and the last on June 3.
3-month plan - first charge on April 1, second on May 1 and the last on June 3.
4-month plan - first charge on March 1, second on April 1, third on May 1 and last on June 3.
Payment plan options are available online by logging into My Ravens Ticket Account or by completing and returning the payment plan form included in your renewal mailing.

is there a breaking point
I started thinking about the home games as a season ticket holder and came up with some staggering facts. I ride in an RV with a group of 12 people to each game.
Our average ticket price is around $100 plus we have to each pay for 2 preseason games that we don't attend. Plus we pay $80 to park (the Ravens charge us for 2 spots even though we are only take up 1).
Add all that up and you get $12,800 plus about another $4000 we spend on concessions. With all that money we could have a $2000 per game catered party and watch on big screen high def TVs.
While I will still be attending all home games again this year I have to admit at some point it is not going to be worth going to the games and sitting through rain, cold, heat etc. when I can have one hell of a party in the comfort of my home for the same price or less.
