    Default Friends of Hamas

So turns out there is no such organization. And this whole story re Hagel and this "organization" was literally a joke.

Well you could knock me over with a feather! A fine news org like Breitbart spreading a story without the slightest effort at verification. Golly, next you're gonna tell me there's no Santa Claus.

What do you expect from the "if it's on the internets it must be true" crowd?

True. How hard is it to search "Friends of Hamas"? Yikes.

I'm not sure I would go as far as calling Hagel a "friend of Hamas", but he did state in the past that he believed the US should open up talks with Hamas and Hezbollah, two terrorist organizations that have proclaimed their goal to be the destruction of Israel. Hagel voted for the Iraq war. Then criticized it. That's fine, anyone can change his mind. He said the Iraq surge could be the biggest mistake America made since Vietnam. Then he refused to admit he was wrong under questioning. He is a clown. He will do or say anything to further his position, whatever it may be at the time. There are better qualified people both democrat and republican that could be put in such a high cabinet position. He will be confirmed, and he will bring nothing to his position. He is only being considered because the President wants a republican for his cabinet, and he knows Hagel can be the ultimate yes man. His position is open to change at any moment.

I see no problem with this.

Whether you would call him a "Friend of Hamas" is really not the point here.

The fact is that Breitbart (and I know you're going to be shocked to hear this ) made up the organization called "Friends of Hamas" and then accused Hagel of consorting with them.
