Draft talk: Where do you think the Ravens go in the first round?

You should have seen him in high school and college. I was in the position to watch most of his high school and college games in person and I saw things that I never saw before. Forget his size, if he's available draft him.

Star Lotulelei, the best DT in the draft, has a potential heart condition. No idea how serious it might be, but it would be an absolute coup if they could get him near the bottom of the first round.

I'd also take a serious look at Tyrann Mathieu in the 4th or 5th round. Might be undersized, but that dude loves hitting people.

It's a valid question though. I just generally err on the side of talent, because guys with character concerns who actually manage to get into the locker room in Baltimore seem to fly right. And he has talent, that much is certain.

Yea but why waste a draft pick on a guy who might get suspended like Williams did. They néed to have serious talks with him before wasting a draft pick on him

I think Ray Lewis was the one that would straighten some guys out. He's not there anymore. Reed might not be there. Who is gonna step up?

Any draft pick in that range can be a waste. I'd always take the guy with the most talent as long as I didn't think he was an inherently immoral person. As for who straightens guys out in the locker room, I doubt it's just one guy, but I feel good about Rice, Torrey, Pollard, and even Suggs showing him how to act as a professional, among others. Not to mention the coaching staff.

I don't think LB is as big of a need as people have been suggesting, assuming they're able to re-up Ellerbe.

DLine is priority #1 IMO. The interior espescially needs to be addressed (& a healthy Ngata will help), but assuming Kruger leaves via FA, we'll also need to add another pass rusher. McPhee will be nice if he can return & look like he did, but I don't think we can bank on that happening.

I really can't overemphasize how dissapointed I've been in Cody.

Mark my words D. Thompson will start this year if Boldin walks. If not he will definitely take Doss's job n push Jacoby for extra snaps. How some are so quickly to forget...

I have no faith in Doss, Streeter, or Reed. Thompson might be worthwhile, but if Anquan can't be retained, their WR corps is basically Torrey, Jones, and...uh...Thompson.

Regardless, if Tavon Austin is the best player on the board, I'd take him every time. Maybe it's because I salivate at the prospect of him catching short passes and turning them into 30+ yard gains because he's the fastest guy on the field, but I think he and Torrey lining up on either sideline would absolutely give defenses fits.

I'd draft Jonathan Cyprien in the 1st and Da'rick Rodgers in the second. T.Mathieu in the third.

Due to salary cap concerns as well as draft depth at need positions (DL,OT) I'd imagine the Ravens will likely trade down into the second round and look for the next KO and Kruger. The draft in some ways is so deep, you might be able to get a couple starters in the middle rounds. If I could get two decent third round picks by giving up the last first rounder, I'd consider it.

Currently having the 32nd, 62nd and 94th picks, I'd try to manuever them into three choices between the 45th and 60th slots so that free safety Eric Reid from LSU, OT Kyle Long and DE Magnus Hunt from SMU might be chosen.

I'm no expert either, but I pity any MLB who gets drafted in the 1st round and gets tagged with the "replacement for Ray Lewis" label. It's tough to follow a legend.

I am no expert either, but I play one in Madden.

IMO they go either S, T, then MLB in the first three rounds unless someone like Austin falls to the Ravens. As many have said, the draft is deep in MLB and I think the Ravens could get a steal in the 3rd round for a MLB. Middle of the D is key this year with Reed aging and likely gone in a few years. Having another ballhawk is going to be key going forward. The Ravens have focused a lot on offense the past drafts, and I think this year they get back to the D. Flacco Torrey Rice and Pierce will be tied up for a while and I think they resign Pitta when his turn comes. D and OL.
