M&T Upgrades

4) All the hotdogs in my section were cold during the Colts playoff game. Can we get better concession stands?

I'd rather upgrade the above than what is being proposed.

Very good list. Around 519, the concession stands are slow. They need to change the process back there and speed things up.

It amazes me that the Ravens moved from a 1950s era stadium WITH two efficient escalators to a brand new stadium with NO escalators.

Heres the deal, the folks who sit upstairs in the 500 sections are not high profit crowd, cheapest tickets, likely not big spenders, like the downstairs fans and club level folks.

Just a guess on my part, I would say the number of restrooms per fan on the 500 level, is way less than the lower bowl.

Always remember in life, that money follows money.

If the MD stadium authority has to sign off these improvements, they should disapprove them without escalators in the plan.

I sit 3 rows from the top of the stadium in section 540.

The ramps and stairs work just fine for me.

Do only people with disabilities or the elderly use the elevators? They should be.

Elevators and escalators are a luxury.

I bet a lot of the people complaining about having to walk up ramps or stairs are the same people who don't want to stand on third down.

And you'd be wrong.

That's exactly it. While I have no trouble walking the ramps myself, I often come to the game with people who don't qualify for the elevator, but have a little bit of a hard time walking the ramps.

If the Ravens want to offer a great game day experience, I would think getting to your seat with relative ease once you enter the stadium and not having to stand in line for half a quarter at the restrooms would be top of the list.

On interesting note, its clear some people don't want or need an escalator to the 500 level, but why do they care if the rest of us ask for one? Even if they were installed the ramps would still be there and would be less crowded.

If that is true you need to call the state. Elevators have to be inspected every year with a full load test done every five years. It does not matter if it's a government building.

Do you mind telling me e building and do you know if they are being taken care of by an outside contractor?

It's actually on base at Aberdeen, which rumor has it makes it federal property. No inspection certificates in any of the elevators. I assume that means... they weren't. But maybe I'm wrong. I don't really know how being on federal property changes things... I just know that the elevators are always broken, take months to get fixed, and have no visible inspection certificates in them.

The fact that M&T lacks escalators is mind boggling to begin with. And that fact that the issue isn't being addressed year after year is even more mind boggling.

Not really. Not when maintenance and safety is an important issue. Can you imagine 10,000 fans scrambling for an escalator after the game? A large swath of them drunk?

And Americans have an obesity, and IMO, an overall laziness issue. I get that we pay a lot for a PSL and tickets but you knew it going in. There are no ramps or steps to watch the game at home, so maybe people complaining about these issues should stay home.

If humping it up the ramp or stairs is nearly killing you, I suggest a chance of diet and some exercise.

Elevators and escalators are luxuries?

Patrons of the Ravens pay big money for tickets, food, drinks and parking.

They deserve to get accomdations and services commensurate with prices being charged.

I find it really fascinating how some fans insist on standing for long periods of time while watching NFL games. If that is the acceptable norm, perhaps all the seats at M & T should be removed and rails with positions numbers should be installed.

With all the seats removed, M & T should be able to accommodate 100,000 fans, standing at assigned numbers in front of rails.

When Camden Yards and M & T were designed a great deal of seat comfort was engineered into the facility, come to find out it was a total waste of money.

I have a question for PSL holders:

While watching the games at M & T on tv, its seems that a small fraction of fans are standing the entire game, how is that situation handled by ushers and security staff, when customers complain?

Standing during 3rd down is not "standing for long periods of time".

I don't have a standing problem in my section. People just know that others will stand during 3rd down.

I personally don't care. I just can see why there aren't any for safety and upkeep reasons.
