In fact she has now completed her surgery and her "transition". What I did learn from this is while I still find it quite bizarre, she is just another person. She has similar thoughts, wants, needs as the rest of us. For a long time I resisted thinking of this, content to label her a freak in my mind. But she isn't a freak emotionally. She is a fairly normal, fairly well adjusted person. It was quite a learning experience for me. A chance to stretch my thoughts beyond what I'd been willing to do previously.
Would you ever date a person that you knew was once a man?

No, but that really isn't the issue is it?

I'm not interested in your red herring. The Guidance makes it clear that repeated misgendering and refusing to use the trans person's first name is bullying and should be punished. I didn't see anything in the Guidance about your red herring, and I assume you either made it up or were misled by that tabloid journal where you first heard about this issue.

I haven't seen any evidence of such a claim.

It shows that no matter what they do to be the other sex most people won't fully accept that they are.

    Oh look, another red herring!

How about discussing the topic - that transgender children really exist and that they suffer due to ignorance of their medical condition.

Personally, I think that we as a society could stand to ease up the pressure on gender roles. Allowing cross gender behavior could allow people to be more creative and those individuals could end up becoming more productive members of society. And after all, what's the only objection - a certain dusty 2,000 year old book?

I only read about it from the links provided on this thread. You sound pretty hostile, why is that?

    Anywhoo...

Why would I want to tell him/her/whatever anything, aside from what I want to order, please and thank you, and check, please? Gender identy is not exactly a burning question where I come from.
Hell if I know if she'll cause a scene. She might spit in your food.

Good, that's it you don't have/need to say anything. Just treat them like you'd treat any other human being.

Perhaps but they are still people with the same wants and needs of the rest of us humans. They fish in a MUCH smaller pond but I'm not going to say they have no right to their catch.

Is that what they're looking for? They especially know they once had a penis or vagina. I think they're just trying to feel comfortable in their own skin. I don't think it matters what others say as much. If it did, I doubt they would have ever begun crossdressing in the first place.

This school policy or whatever just seems to be nothing more than a tool to prevent harrassment.

I think some are. Remember the one on this board who was supposedly a male to female transgender who said they were a lesbian? If they wanted relationships with females wouldn't it have been more practical to remain a male?

Yeah, I don't want to mention their name at the risk of a TOS violation but the name involved a section of a City in Central California. I never could figure out the logic with that one.

Yeah, I am not sure if they were real or not either.
