Baltimore Police are investigating a double homicide late Sunday and two other shootings that occurred in the predawn hours.
This one was on Friday.Responding to calls of gunfire at about 10:50 p.m., Northeast District officers found an unresponsive man lying in the street in the 1700 block of Montpelier St. suffering from gunshot wounds. Up the block, police found a car with the front passenger door open and a woman inside, who had also been shot and was unresponsive.
Both victims were transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital. The man, who police said had "numerous" gunshot wounds to his torso and head, was pronounced dead at 11:21 p.m. The woman, shot in her torso and a limb, was pronounced dead six minutes later.
If only cars were illegal, this could have been prevented.City confirmed Saturday that a man and a woman whose bodies were found in a burning car in West Baltimore early Friday morning had been shot.
Police said it was still not clear whether they were killed by bullets or the fire and had no more information on the cause of the blaze. The fire was discovered at about 5 a.m. in the 2000 block of N. Monroe St. in the Mondawmin neighborhood, fire officials said.
