Default Kegasus out, Pitbull in for this year's Preakness

Who needs Kegasus when the Preakness infield party will have rappers Pitbull and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis headlining this year's entertainment?

There's no official word yet, but Chuckas said Monday afternoon that Kegasus, the half-man, half-centaur mascot, would likely not return this year. Preakness' InfieldFest has become such a significant event in recent years, Chuckas said, that a mascot might no longer be neccessary.

"The brand is very strong. It's become a first-class event," Chuckas said via telephone. "The Jockey Club's need to rely on Kegasus is less than ever."

Does mean songs like "Dopeball" will be featured this year?

Racing really is the "sport of kings".

Loud obnoxious drunks running accross urinals while other loud obnoxious drunks throw full beers at them, people passed out in the grass pissing and puking all over themselves, fights, etc., is a first class event!?

Can see the headlines now: shootings/stabbings at the Preakness...ala the recent Ravens Parade and the July 4th celebration at the Inner Harbor. Hopefully the thugs and thuglettes will stay away.

Were there stabbings last year when Wiz Khalifa performed?
