Default School Forces Christian Teen To Change Pro-Abstinence T-Shirt

    http://www.westernjournalism.com/sch...nence-t-shirt/

"Summer Schreiner, a 15-year-old student at Clearlake Middle School in Cocoa, Fla., was told to change her pro-abstinence t-shirt after officials deemed it “inappropriate.” The teen acquired the shirt, which read, ”Don’t drink and park… accidents cause kids,” at a Christian conference she recently attended. But the message was apparently too offensive for education officials."

The pedophiles who teach and work at public schools don't want their prey to believe in abstinence.

But apparently the pedophiles who work in the churches do?

Seems to me the shirt violated the dress code. Has nothing to do with the message.

Does the school have a dress code? Is it a uniformed school?

Interestingly enough, it explicitly states that cross dressing is not allowed...how timely to this board

How is the message in any way cross dressing?

Taken from the school's dress code link:
Any clothes or hair style/color that causes a disruption to the education setting or may be unsafe will be prohibited (cross dressing will be prohibited). Students are to adhere to the same dress code for after school activities.
I was kind of laughing because of the transgender thread going on right now.

So your response was not in keeping with what this student did.

Right, I wasn't saying this student cross dressed, I was just pointing out part of the school's dress code since we've been talking about it in the other thread.

As for what this student did, the only thing I see in the dress code that could back this up is
Any clothes or hair style/color that causes a disruption to the education setting or may be unsafe will be prohibited
I haven't read anything to suggest that her shirt was causing a disruption to the education setting, but perhaps the teacher and/or administration felt that it could do so. At that point, its really at their discretion. I'm a bit curious as to how this story became national news.

According to the school, having sexual innuendo on the shirt violates the dress code.

There are no exceptions for Christians.

They should let the student continue to wear the shirt, so long as other students are allowed to wear shirts promoting promiscuity.

Unless it's a transgender kid's education that is being disrupted, then it's OK.

Right. It's a damned shame. It's ok for boys to dress like girls and and participate in girls field hockey and shower with the girls, but the world comes to an end if a girl shows up with a shirt from a Christian conference. The message is it's ok to be a freak and cause a huge disturbance by dressing and acting as if one is the opposite sex, but you'll be damned if you bring the tiniest bit of your Christian religion to schoo. Not other religions mind you, but just Christian.

Imagine the uproar if the banned clothing was a burkha or other Islamic attire.

Probably cause 3 honor killings, 2 suicide bombings, 3 fatwas, and a jihad or 2.

    Also from the code

One must consider the obvious agenda the orignal source has. I have not seen it in any other news source. I think it also fits the sexually suggestive piece!

Are you against girls playing baseball instead of softball?
