can someone explain to me why every crew I see is made up of Latinos, and only Latinos. the money for this was from the stimulus that was supposed to put Americans back to work. Are you telling me that this contractor could not find any African Americans in the area that needed a job?

It requires hard manual labor. If you hire a private contractor these days for home improvement jobs like painting, roofing, siding, re-modeling, etc. it's the same thing. Why work when you can get welfare or sell drugs? Latinos don't qualify for welfare because most are either illegal or here on a Visa.

Listen you can play that card if you want, but I can tell you for a fact that they are illegals. I've worked in the service industry for Over years, mostly in LA and nyc, I know the difference, but my piont was in a area with a high unemployment rate for young blacks you would think that they would make up part of the crews. the reason they don't is because the contractor subs out the work and that Co. uses cheap illegal labor.

As someone who has many years of job site experience I can tell you that most of the hispanics you see are illegal. Further I know that most black and whites don't like to work with them. Further yet the contractors don't have to worry about law suits/insurance
with illegals. BTW that crap about them being hard workers and doing a better job is just that,crap. It all about the money,just like always.

I think you could accurately say "some" or "many". But it is not so easy to say most or to spot which are which. I work on a federal government site that currently has a lot of new construction. Most of the sub-contractors employ non-white (read "hispanic") individuals. I know for a fact that these employees have undergone extensive background checks to verify their immigration status.

The one thing that I have noticed, that each of these "hispanics" does the work of 10 "Americans". And the work is top notch.

If you suspect illegal aliens working at a particular area, Homeland Security has a hotline you can call to report your suspicions.
