Don't bet on it. Last year he said when the time came for him to leave the NFL he'd like to head down to 'Bama, his alma mater.
(And let's not forget good old Nick Saban and his pressers while he was the 'Fins HC. "I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE"! FF to later on..."Welcome Nick Saban as the HC of the Tide".)
Yeah. It happened.

it's a great opportunity-- no salary cap, unlimited resources, boosters paying players and you get to pick your players without much competition....who wouldn't want to walk into that job?
Ozzie's not going anywhere despite those perquisites...winning Super Bowls trumps winning National Championships...not to mention the NFL is far easier to deal with than the NCAA...
General Note: For all those stating emphatically one way or the other how this is going to play out, PLEASE post this week's winning lotto numbers since you obviously have supernatural clairvoyant powers.
Thanks in advance.
This falls in the category of... "If we predict the same thing year after year after year, eventually it'll turn out to be right".People have been floating the "Ozzie leaving soon for Alabama" rumors for years now. Eventually it might happen. Maybe this year, maybe 10 years from now. We'll see...
I don't know for sure how long the university plans to keep the position open but I'm sure they would like to make a decision within the next month. The bottomline is that if Ozzie wanted to step down he would have done it after they won the Superbowl. I'm not saying that he will be here for the next five or ten years but I'm pretty sure he's energized by the idea of seeing his franchise QB truly take off along with the other young core players on this team. Nick Saban couldn't cut it in the NFL which is the reason why he went back to where he shines best, college football. Ozzie is great at his job at the NFL level, Saban wasn't.

If I had to bet, I'd say no. But the truth is, there's only ONE person who knows for sure. And that's Ozzie Newsome.
My best guess is that since everyone knows that this year is arguably the most important year in Raven's history, I'd bet that Ozzie wants to finish what he started. And I don't see that getting wrapped up in time to take the 'Bama AD job. Maybe they'd appoint an interim AD down there but I doubt it.
I agree. I think Ozzie has to be tempted. But he also is coming off a Super Bowl and now a semi rebuilding program. Something tells me he's the kind of guy that won't leave unfinished business. I think he wants to leave the Ravens in good shape. Could he go after the draft, anything is possible I suppose. But I think he stays I don't think he's ready to leave.

Great choice by Bama selecting Bill Battle as its next AD. As founder of Collegiate Licensing Company, generated $1B for schools since ‘81.

Make sure you get a nice big slice of that humble pie, I'm going to enjoy this shallow victory over you.
LOL I'm just messing with you again, you know it's all good. I don't mind getting scooped if it means I have to take care of some important husband duties, again I'll leave it at that LOL.
LOL @ your 'husbandly duties'.
And definitely...it's all good. Things are rolling along. I had my list of priorities for the Ravens this offseason:
1. Sign Joe to LTC -- done.
2. Do NOT re-sign Ed reed -- done.
3. Only re-sign Boldin if the price was right -- done.
4. GET A LEFT TACKLE -- not yet done.
5. Don't overpay for Kruger -- done.
6. Don't overpay for Ellerbe -- done.
7. Get rid of Leach or his ridiculous contract -- not yet done.
So hey...considering how early it is in the post season (except when it comes to LTs) I'd have to say the Ravens get very high marks from me. (Grade: B)
