See, I didn't think "V for Vendetta" was a bad story for all that it wasn't really Moore's story (they changed his basic theme). Watchmen... we'll see, but that was a complex tale and I wonder if they can reduce it to a two hour or so film.

I've only seen the movie for V so I can't say. Still, that movie seemed to be missing something. I can't quite put my finger on it.

The Watchmen will be tough to do right and easy to screw up. Especially the ending in the graphic novel which was both violent and dark.

In other geekiness,

The revelation of the last Cylon on BSG was decidedly anti-climatic. Was it who I thought it was? No. Still, it was more of a, "Oh, by the way...." sort of thing.

In WoW, I finally got Swift Flight Form for my druid. Woot! No more slow bird.

I've purchased 4 epic flyers.... That's a crapload of farming and dailies.

The sad thing is that since I'm all better I feel no urge to play. I used to play once the kids went to bed, but being laid up for a while and playing too much of put me on overload.

I've burnt out on the game before. I took about a 3 month break about a year and a half ago.

Anyway, this is the second epic flyer for me. The first one I got before there were dailies.

This one was a little easier to get in that there are plenty of dailies to do. Still, resto-druids are probably the weakest dps class there is. The upside is that my druid is a herbalist and flight form is great for that and swift flight form is even better.

Now I gotta farm up another 1000g for dual spec.

I'm so glad I have no idea what you're talking about.

If I ever feel the urge to play, I've got that no problem. Probably sitting on about 15-16k.

I'll probably go see it in the theater just out of curiosity.

I worry that the new Star Trek movie is going to be just dreadful. Hopefully I'm wrong.

It probably will be. They did pick Scott Bakula for a show after all.

"[The movie] has been "turned into a Bush-era parable by people too timid to set a political satire in their own country… It's a thwarted and frustrated and largely impotent American liberal fantasy of someone with American liberal values standing up against a state run by neoconservatives—which is not what the comic V for Vendetta was about. It was about fascism, it was about anarchy, it was about England."
That's the wikipedia cite regarding Moore's reaction to the film. He's right about Hollywood being chickenchits with red meat satire but aside from that V was excellent.

I think I am the only person who like the Enterprise show. Then again, I've only seen a handful of episodes of it.

There has been much better sci-fi on TV. Firefly. BSG. Some people love Heroes but I haven't seen it.

It was ok. I watched for one reason only; the skin tight outfits the had Jolene Blalock wear.

I think there is a political response to this but I'd rather stick to geeking. Besides, you've read enough of my posts on nationls that you can probably write my response yourself.

Now, I don't know about V the graphic novel all that much but just for style points the movie could have shown a bit more of Hugo. Ya gotta admit, he has a commanding presence. And that voice of his gave him just the right balance of scorn and creepiness when he played Agent Smith.

And I can watch Natalie Portman all day.

To get a jubling, you have to find the woman who lost Jubjub, and have two specific beers (i forget which it is, sorry) in your inventory. One is for her, and one is to throw on the ground to lure Jubjub back. If you do, you'll get a jubling egg that takes a week to hatch.

Sweet. I've got two 80s now. A druid and a priest.
I got the 'Damage Control' achievement a few days ago on my priest. You had to do 300,000 damage or healing in one battleground. I hit 404,000. We lost anyway.

Nice. I like my priest, but she dies too easily and it's hard to find someone to run around with. I played my druid to 30, then went back to my main, which is a mage. I'm working on the exploration achievement next.

Try a shadow priest. That is what mine is.

Also, go to Wintergrasp. There is nice gear to get out of that battleground.
And with the honor you get you can get this set.
